Ethic is broadly defined as an act that deals with question concerning the nature of value in matter of human conducts. Therefore, work ethic is vital in any organization to achieving any set objective or goals. The same is true that every individual in any organisation must strive to have a good work ethic to keep the organization functioning at its peak. Work ethics is a set of moral character that deals with what is right or wrong and good or bad in matter of human conduct of individual uses in his work. Therefore, certain factors must come together to create a strong work ethic, of which the most prominent among this are ;-( DISSE).
1. Discipline; - In any organization, it takes some level of commitment to finish any given task. Any individual with good discipline must stay focused with determination to complete any given task. Must always demonstrate some level dedication and commitment in ensuring high level of performance.
2. Integrity; - Integrity as a concept stretches to virtually every aspect of any individual’s task. Therefore, any individual with integrity strive to a foster genuine relationship with everyone around. There must be some level of trust among individuals in any organisation for honest feedback. It also implies putting up some level of high moral standard and trust without questionable character.
3. Sense of Responsibility;-A strong sense of responsibility affects a certain level the result of any given task. When an individual feels responsible for any job performance, such individual, no doubt, must keep to time with the best effort on performance in any given task without distraction.
4. Sense of Teamwork;- Most individual must have to work together to meet up with set objective Any individual with high sense of teamwork not only facilitate the set objective but also help to deliver high quality of any given task. Teamwork is not just a collection of bunch of in individual with different agenda but with a complimentary skill committed to common purpose and mutually accountable for attaining a result in any given task.
5. Emphasis on Quality; - Any individual with strong work ethic must care about the quality of any given task. Often, there are some individual who only do the bare minimum, enough to keep the job intact. Contrary to this notion, individual must always do their best to produce great work, not merely doing what is just needed for its own sake. But by putting in some level of commitment to quality improvement on the part of individuals. And this must be demonstrated in order to improve the overall organizational[b][/b] quality.
