UNILAG lecturer, student sign peace accord after one week fracas

A peace accord was signed between a University of Lagos (UNILAG) lecturers, Dr. Babawale Taiwo and a student, Jimmy Fatunbi, have signed peace accord after both engaged in fracas recently.

The peace accord, which was facilitated by the institution’s investigation committee, was signed on Tuesday between both parties after the panel interrogated them on what happened.

Before the peace accord, the institution stated that it was established during interrogation that there was indeed a fracas between Taiwo and Fatunbi within the school premises.

It would be recalled that Fatunbi alleged that he was slapped and stabbed by Taiwo and Dr. Israel Abiala, who lecture at the Departments of Mathematics and Statistics; and Arts and Social Sciences Education respectively.



The institution, in a statement made available to The Guild, noted that after much interrogation, it was realised the matter should be resolved amicably before it further escalates.

“Consequent upon this, the matter was resolved according to the University extant regulation on conflict resolution. All concerned parties thereafter signed a document on the matter.
