A Cleric, Bishop Ginika Obi has been remanded in Enugu Maximum prison for alleged advance fee fraud involving over N500m, Enugu Police Command says.

The Enugu state police command spokesman, Mr Ebere Amaraizu said Bishop Ginika, whose church/office is at Km 111, Enugu-Port Harcourt express highway, in Enugu state had been said to have tricked many people into paying huge amounts of money to him.

The Police command in a statement noted that the bishop was said to have claimed, he could his victims reap bumper financial dividends in return.

Amarizu said Obi was arraigned on October 11 in an Enugu Federal High Court presided over by Justice A. Liman.

He said the suspect had been in prison custody since Oct. 12 and that further hearing on his case had been scheduled for November 1 and November 2.
