President Buhari has on Friday reiterated his commitment to making Nigeria a good business destination for foreign investors. Speaking at D-8 organization for Economic Cooperation at the Turkish capital Istanbul.

He said “Nigeria is committed to, and is actively pursuing a policy of trade and investment facilitation for growth”. He further explained that positives from trade are measured by job creation, economic competitiveness and better welfare of consumers. The President therefore enjoined developing economies to be more active in the organization and avail themselves of its inherent benefit.

President Buhari said “In Africa, we are on the threshold of finalizing negotiations to establish the first ever single market for trades in goods and services on the continent, in the Continental Free Trade Area for Africa. This will be a win- win or all, including member countries of the D-8.

He however urged enhanced cooperation with the African Union stressing that countries needed to establish integrated marketing structures. The President again condemned the recent military coup in the country stressing that, Nigeria will always stand by Turkey in the defence and promotion of its democratic ideas.
