The 2017 Carnival Calabar kicked off on Sunday October 22 with its first Dry Run as the train to the Africa’s biggest street party leaves the station.

With lots to expect from this seasons’ event, Africa most watched event was flagged off by the Minister of Information, Alhaji Lai Mohammed.

As witness live by Calabar Reporters, the festival Dry Run featured the five (5) competitive Bands, namely; Masta Blasta, Passion 4, Seagull, Freedom and Bayside Bands.

All the state Commissioners including the Special Advisers, SAs to Governor Ben Ayade featured in the festival as stipulated earlier by the Tourism Commissioner, Hon. Eric Anderson.

Though, it seemed like the rain was going to steal the show, but the spirit of carnival was on top of it as the masses were entertained.
