QuotaSystem: They didn't check the car's engine and chassis number before they auction it? |

Skinnienigga: The right thing the police should have done is to contact the owner. At least he lodged complaint about his stolen vehicle. I just weak for this country. The police couldn't even wait for one full year before auctioning the said vehicle. 2 Likes |

QuotaSystem: Since the car was reported stolen, the Police should have first informed the legit owner that his car was recovered. The car and the owner would be in their data base I smell corruption!! 1 Like |

[quote author=QuotaSystem post=61900531]To be fair, the police have been auctioning recovered but unclaimed vehicles after advertising them in national dailies for as long as I can remember. The original owner must have missed the advertisements and the vehicle was auctioned to another person for a low price. I can only fault the police for not contacting the original owner once the car was found, since he had already made a report and presumably dropped his contact details. The owners best option is probably to contact the successful buyer and persuade him to give back the car after paying him what it cost him at the auction; this is because the auction is a legally recognized and regulated process. My two cents. [/quote We all know Nigeria police with their dubious ways from bottom up. You are either one of the Armed robbers in uniform, a thief or child of a thief for saying this nonsense. 2 Likes |

In our world today, everyone wants things fast. From fast foods to fast money to fast cars. Be patient and work diligently because faithfulness pays. A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent. Proverbs 28:20 |

QuotaSystem:Okay, so let me get this straight. Owner reports a stolen vehicle at a police station in port harcpurt and pays upwards of 3,500 for police report. Owner gets assured by police that once his vehicle is recovered, he will be notified. Owner goes home and keeps in touch with police but keeps getting told vehicle has not been found. Police in same port Harcourt (different police station) recover vehicle and auction same vehicle after publishing in the dailies. Did the same police publish to other stations to confirm if a range rover has been reported missing? What is the point of reporting to the police if same police can't even identify what they have recovered? Now owner should go and beg the auction winner? Owner should sue the police to hell for gross incompetence. What manner of fuckery is this? Mchteew. 2 Likes |

orugba: As I read, I was almost feeling pity for you till I read the bolded line. You went and bought a car the whole world knows is the easiest car to steal and number one thief magnet, used it for a month without adequate protection and lost it to thieves, now you want to go and arrest people who did you good by selling u a car, so that they'll spend money to bail themselves, making more money for the police. Next they'll tell u to submit a list of all your friends, that they're suspects and you will also do that, and after all said and done your car will still not be found by them. I'm not wishing u bad, it's just the harsh reality of your current situation cos I've also been through it. Better not make more enemies for yourself cos it's the last thing u need right now. 1 Like |

orugba: I owned the same Toyota Camry and it was stolen like yours, I used it for about four years plus before it was stolen, I wasn't given a spare key too and the dealers delivered it all the way from Cotonou to Abuja too to me. Now, how about I go and arrest them Camry spare key that can be cut for a meagre 1500-2k? I personally made at least three different spare keys for the duration, now how's that a big deal Master key that can open all Camry cars is available to all and sundry for even as little as 1k, intact u might not even need it at times cos the keys for different cars seem to open each other at will Truth is: you fell for the Toyota hype and probably didn't bother about the other disadvantages of owning one, it's not the end of the world like I told u before , you'll get over it While you're still in that police station, ask them to tell you the car that's most reported stolen and you'll understand better, Tnx |
