Please take time and read this to the end especially if you are a corp member to testify.
Its really annoying and disappointing with the hope we had on the said patriotic new Mr president on the issue of NYSC scheme that it may either be restructured or scrapped because it's aim of “service and humility…” has been defeated. NYSC scheme is one of the corrupted organizations in Nigeria, corrupt practices in terms of either relocation of corp member from deployed state to another state of their choice; there's even some special prices for relocation of corp member to states like Abuja and Lagos which the NYSC DG is fully aware of because the relocation letter contains dully signed and stamped DG office seal.
Also the issue of accommodating corp member left them with no choice than to pay the bribe to be either reposted or redeployed to another Place of Primary Assignment; the scheme is not accommodating, the PPA is not accommodating as well.
Coming to the issue of allowance of a corp member, frankly speaking you don't expect someone from far places like the eastern or southern part of this country to come and survive on N19,800 with neither friends nor family in the North; this was completely unjustified. This leads female corp members to prostitution and rituals as well. We especially the youths had the 100% hope one the changed presidency to do something about it but left us in no hope. Also the period of paying the allowance is also not accommodating; imagine someone with no friends and family in another terrain budgeted for a complete month of 30 days hoping for another allowance in the next 30 days but delayed to either 5th or 6th of another month, imagine the situation that corp member will get into whereas the budgeted allowance was sent to banks and deposited into fix in order to to generate interest for their own self use.
I hope my fellow youths will sit tight and think over my points
I also hope this reaches the appropriate personnel to act something on the corrupt practices happening in this organization.
