Slavery: Libyans auction Nigerians, others for $400

Stranded Nigerians and migrants of other nationals in Libya are in a dire situation as smugglers now auction them for sale as slaves in the North African country for as low as $400 (N144,000). In a video footage report published by the Cable News Network (CNN), some stranded immigrants in the North African country were seen in a brief clip being auctioned for sale, with the auctioneer saying they are, “big strong boys for farm work.”

According to the report, Nigerians are sold at the auctions, which usually take place at least twice in a month, for 900, 1,000 Libyan Dinars, depending on the physical strength the migrant possesses.

“Eight hundred,” says the auctioneer. “900… 1,000… 1,100…” Sold. For 1,200 Libyan dinars – the equivalent of $800. The auction was not for a used car, a piece of land, or an item of furniture, but two human beings. In the video, an unidentified Nigerian, who is believed to be in his late 20s and putting on a pale shirt and sweatpants, was sold during the transaction.

Anyone who is not proud of his country and wants to be a runaway in search of green pastures with no legal means deserves to be a slave in another man's country.

$800 is too expensive for a runaway Nigeria.

This I know because the Nigerian govt has no atom of value for its citizens anywhere in the world.

In SA, they are being killed like roaches and the Nigerian govt is simply at an akimbo watching with no sensible diplomatic policy raised. Rather, someone in the East was busy erecting Jacob Zuma's statue.

That guy above me said the truth
When you watch news regularly
You would loose interest in traveling out
For greener pastures
$800 is expensive for real
If not illiteracy why would you
Go to Libya where all sorts of guns
Are playing around freely
And two fighting groups claiming to be the new government

Most of those migrants are from west africa.

If nigeria is good the whole of west africa would be good.

But nigeria failed to become a sensible country.

APC is a curse.

2017, our african people are still been sold as slaves.

One nigeria is a failure.
