The definition of meat is " the flesh of animal eaten for food". Does fish meet this criteria?

Yes fish meets the criteria as a flesh of animal used for food, but there is an exception. By ur logic I can also call eba or rice meet since according to Merriam Webster dictionary, meat can also mean any solid food distinguished from drink. So as far as that thing is not a drink, it can be called meat. So do u also agree that eba or cocumber is meat?

The same dictionary told us that meat is the flesh of a mammal as opposed to fowl or fish... So in this instance fish is not meat.

English is just a complicated language, the same English that told us that bat is a piece of sports equipment used for baseball also told is bat is the name of a certain bird. They also told is wave means to move the hand in greeting but it also can mean sea water coming into shore. So brisers not complicate things, meat is meat, fish is fish. End of.

In our FOOD & NUTRITION class we were taught that meat is defined as the MUSCLES of animals.
