Hi... please I need information. I will be traveling to Malaysia for the first time and I am extremely nervous. I have never been outside the country before in my life...
I intend to study and work at the same time. I have already secured a job, it doesn't pay much but it's still better than nothing and every little bit counts right? What is the easiest course to study that will allow me work at the same time? Preferably something that is almost entirely online based so I don't have to be skipping classes. I already have a degree here but I haven't been able to do much with it hence the plan to acquire a second one elsewhere. Also how does one go about applying to a school there? I know someone there who is helping with accommodation. I'm also going there legally. I just need information so I can make the most of things or at least make an informed decision. Please share your experiences and advice, every bit helps. Thank you.

I don't mean to discourage you but of all places you chose to go to Malaysia. Unless you have plans to go into yahoo plus or drugs make plans to move from there.

I understand what you mean. I have fears too about going anywhere since Nigerians are, apparently, viewed negatively. I have never and do not intend to engage in any forms of fraudulent activities. Nor prostitution. I intend to study and hopefully make something out of my life. It's just the one place I'm guaranteed an accommodation, feeding and a job that is above board so I don't have to worry about most of the things that stumps others. The basic things that makes adjustment in a new country nigh impossible. Thank you for your kind input.

You're welcome. Just do your thing and stay away from places that spell trouble. Cultism is a serious matter there I assume you're a lady so be careful in selecting who you date or commit to. If you have a problem with a Nigerian there report it to the Nigerian community heads before thinking of going to call police. In conclusion, use your head and stay woke. I wish you the best of luck.

you have no idea, with hierarchy and everything. school cultism is a childsplay compared to what happens here. Egede, bucanner, Mafh... etc are fully represented here.

Malaysia is a nice place to study . You will meet a lot of international students from other countries , well it’s good to know that you have already secured where to stay and job . Then you don’t have any problem .

I'm almost in the same case with you. Although I have a brother who is ready to help me settle down there, I still need some help and advice from people who have been there before. I want to work and study in Malaysia too

If you will take my advice shun Malaysia, there is no job there. Many Nigerians you will meet there are into fraud and drugs. Moreover, what kind of job did you secure there? Who secured the job for you? Be careful, guys in Malaysia are so desperate. If you mix up with the wrong crowd, they can harvest your organs for money or use you as a pawn in their illegal deals. Most countries in the Southeast Asia are facing unemployment problems so I wonder how you were able to secure a job. If you must consider Asia, why can't you try South Korea or Japan? These two Asian countries that you can find a job as a foreigner. I'm sure of SK. Think twice be you take that important decison

Do not let folks discourage you. The negative report you hear about Nigerians in Malaysia is due to the fact that bad news travels much more faster than good news. There are very many well respected Nigerians there working legally and doing very very well. In fact while there at a certain time, the least qualified Nigerian in the community I stayed was doing a PhD (And there were lots of Nigerians there).. Just be sure what you want and go for it. Be strong, and determined. By the way as for online studies, I know of Al Maddinah university. You can check them out. There should be others too...

I don't know... I think it's best I don't think about this anymore. Too many negative feedback. Thank you all for your response. I appreciate the advice, encouragement and warnings. I'm going to forget this issue now.
