The Scripture about not 'wearing men's clothing' was not a problem or trousers but of wearing clothes to look like a man.The issue in the bible times was to discourage homosexuality.

In Jewish culture( Orthodox and Ultra Orthodox mainly as they observe the laws of the Old Testament from a religious and cultural perspective) specific clothes are worn by men only and the same for women. They are not interchangeable Trousers on the other hand can be worn by both sexes.
