During pregnancy as expected date of delivery approaches, pregnant mothers begins to thing about the big day how it will look like. “Will I be able to withstand the pain?” they always ask themselves. “What can I do to help while waiting?” The reality is, there is a lot of pain, and “uncomfortableness” during pregnancy and labor. If they condition their mind to be “comfortable” with what they will go through during pregnancy and labor, they might have a solid foundation going into labor.

The followings are simple tips you can prepare yourself and your body for a smooth labor and easier birth.

Educate yourself

People normally have a lot of fear around the unknown of what happens to them during pregnancy and labor. The more fear we have, the more we become anxious and the more stress hormones are released, and this can making labor more painful. As you ease your mind from fear and empowering it with information about what to expect throughout pregnancy and labor, the intensity of pain lessens.

Meditate

Meditation practice make your body and mind to be able to sit with times of discomfort. The deeper you are able to go into the practice, the more you are able to observe everything around and within yourselves, rather than reacting to it. It will allow us to remain present with everything and be able to handle it.
