Hypothyroidism is a disease that gives you low metabolism i.e the rate at which you body utilities stored energy is very low hence you accumulate fat and become obese. I guess she is a christian and attributes the disease to the devil. Just in-case you decide to ask how does a weight loss regimen cure the disease, she is obviously on 'meds' as well as physical therapy to combat the weight loss and normalise the activity of her thyroid.

Just funny there are too many people who pass comments on what they do not have an idea of.
The lady has come out to tell us the medical condition that led to her obesity and the least anyone can do is to support her or keep shut.
Her proper diagnosis and treatment definitely contributed to her weight loss and I am glad for her. Hypothyroidism is not common and can be easily missed by doctors, especially if borderline, unless they specifically look and screen for it.
