DO YOU KNOW THAT GOD WANTS TO DWELL IN THE SANCTUARY OF YOUR HEART?

God said, “Let them make Me a sanctuary, that I may dwell among them. (Exodus 25:8 )

Why do you think God commanded Moses to build the Tabernacle? He did so because He wanted to dwell in our hearts. The problem is that many people, in their ignorance spend huge sums of money to build colossal and extravagant church buildings and are deluded to believe that these are the Temples where God dwells.

However, The Sanctuary where God wants to dwell is not a big church building, but it is your hearts that have been washed from sin. God wants to dwell in the hearts of the righteous who have received the remission of sin and become holy. To make this possible, then, do we have to give our prayers of repentance and be sanctified through our own efforts? No, this is not the case. Yet so many of today’s Christians think and believe in this way. Is this not immensely unfortunate and saddening?

1 Corinthians 3:16-17 states, “Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are.” God is holy and completely sinless. He cannot abide in a sinner’s heart. Therefore, He can only come into our hearts just when they are perfectly cleansed by the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit.

What then must we do now? We must cleanse away all the sins in our hearts by believing in the GOSPEL of the WATER and the SPIRIT, so that God comes to dwell in them. It is by BELIEVING in it that you can build the holy Temple in your hearts. It is highly likely that until now, at least some of you have probably been giving your prayers of repentance to cleanse your hearts, trying to build the Temple by yourselves. But now is the time for you to abandon this false faith and be transformed by the renewing of your minds by believing in this gospel of the water and the Spirit.
