I thank God for you for the gift of Life, may He perfect all that concerns you and your family. My baby then went for a test at Texas Children Medical centre and was billed about $1k (it came few days to leaving), l was offered no discount but was able to pay installmentally (9months). Yours is somehow very high and you need to use all means to get discount, you can explore using Dr F. And the hospital that referred you. (Before my delivery, my obgyn was able to speak to her colleague who is a paed at TCH and she waived Dr fee for myvisits).
Above all, pray for favor and God will grant you cheers.

California is a very large state. You need to narrow down on your search.
DW is giving birth mid-Feb in the Valencia area.
We went last month. ..she needed to continue her antenatal plus it's her first time in the US (needed her to get used to the windy and cold environment).
Putting up with my family friend (because we travelled with our last baby) and my former classmate who's wife's also expecting.
The fees for cash patients are moderate. ..Dr- $2.5k, antenatal- $200 per visit, Hospital- $3.5k normal (1 to 2 days) and above $5k for CS, scan- $300, Epidural- $500 (my wife isn't interested, our first baby was without it) and Anaesthetic- $800.

My people,

I hail Una.

Please, what documents am I expected to take to DHL office for visa renewal after using my B1/B2 to give birth in US.

Would I require to submit the zero balance letters from the doc/hospital/Pead. along with my completed application form at the DHL office.

Thank u
If I were you, I'll rather go for interview instead of dropbox. Dropbox takes a longer time...and because you'd given birth in the US, chances are that they may still ask for you physical appearance at the embassy.
As per docs, I see correct answers have been provided. DHL will not accept the zero balance sheet.

Can someone help with how to go about sending health history to a doctor in the US.
Is the Nig hospital suppose to send scan copies of patience's medical file or what?
Just need to be sure they do it the right way.

For follow up interview,

Pls I have some questions:

1. Apart from international passport and appointment confirmation and ofcos supporting documents is there any other thing to take along?

I’m kinda guessing Passport photograph.
The payment receipt and DS- 160 confirmation were all sent along with Dropbox but was not returned and I don’t have extra copies...

2. Also for hospital correspondence, is it sufficient to take my email to the hospital and their response along with the cost breakdown. OR do I need to also book an hospital appointment ahead too...

3. I’m going to same City I had my first baby but this time around I want to use a different hospital as the previous one no longer has an all encompassing bill... I’ll have to get doctor, anesthesia, pediatrician separately unlike before when the hospital handled all and you just pay a bulk sum. The new hospital has an all encompassing bill that’s why I want to use them. Is this a red flag

I’m counting on your kind responses.

Why not confirm from the hospital which is acceptable by them... for my first baby, I gave all necessary information via email but travelled with the comprehensive history and gave them the hard copy when I got there. It was uploaded on their system and my copy given back to me..

Finally Ramj Mrs was past POE and went to pick her bags to exit the airport. Lo and behold My Darling wifey saw her fast bag graciously carried it off the carousel, sat on it waiting for the second bag. 5 minutes became 10 and 10 became 15 minutes yet no bag. The devil is a liar after all these bag must not miss oo.
She was set to go and complain before deciding to go to the other side alas here was bag number 2.
the bag had been dropped by someone else and DW was sat down waiting for a bag that was waiting for her. hehehehehe I won't blame her too tired to be running about. Preggy Mamas would know better.

So she wheeled the cart to the next officer who directed her to Agric, the officers in Agric where nicer. They asked what she had - egusi, ofada rice, beans, yam flour, agalumo and the list goes on.. they carried the bag for scanning . bag one scaled through without hassle, no food in it. At the other end bag 2 'the foodie' was opened, Ofada rice was confiscated and guess what the juicy 'agbalumos' were also arrested.

She left with others into the cold snowy and windy NYC from where the onward journey to the much colder Chi-town continues.

It was sometimes tumultuous but All Glory to God. The missionary journey has reached the beginning of its end.

Lesson number 3: Agric: somethings might be taken smile over them and enjoy what you have left.
Meats, fruits, fresh dairies are a no-no.
Pack your food items in transparent zip-lock bags and the dried version of food items have greater chance of crossing in with you.

Safe delivery to all awaiting Mamas....

Remember it's pretty pretty cold if you are coming up north so Mamas and Papas be well kitted.

Thanks and God bless us all

Thanks! Texas Children's is not smiling AT ALL. I met with them today after earlier phone conversations and I was told categorically that they are a specialist hospital, they don't negotiate bills and the maximum discount they would give is 15%. On fact, the guy said if I leave my bills unpaid it will affect my re-entry into the country!

What my Nigerian doctor did was to write a letter......i guess that's what the report is...just a summary of your health before and during pregnancy (e.g. any previous pregnancies, children or operations, any medication you're on) using medical terms...they stated when i registered for antenatal and everything that had happened to me between then and when I left....basically a short version of what they have on file for you. For me...they also included copies of test results for blood tests they had done. I think the Nigerian doctor will know what to write in a medical report....they do it all the time....even for people changing doctors within Nigeria....just ask/explain to your OBGYN.

You can then scan and email the letter/report to your US doctor to check if it meets their requirements or if they need more info.

1. I think you should take whatever docs you would have taken for a fresh interview e.g. previous receipts etc. Complete burden of proof as they say. You can log in and reprint the DS160 confirmation. You can also reprint GTB receipt if you paid online.

2. I would book an appointment. This should be easy if you are already emailing the hospital and they are Ok to take you on.

3. I don't think this is an issue...but aside from interview...hospital should be able to give a breakdown of the total bill...even if total $10k...you should know how much is doctor's, how much is hospital's and how much is anaesthetist's...for your own info.

hello, just go to your hospital and request for a copy of your medical history covering your present pregnancy, the hospital already know what is required including a cover letter to whom it may concern...Test results, Scans et al!!

No, once you receive a copy of the medical history u will scan to the hospital(s)..

In the spirit of giving back ( the golden wards )
i am follower of this site since almost 2 years and i would like to thank all of you , i did learn a lot
we had our B1/B2 visa last August 2016 used it in March 2017 for its purpose , then we travel in January 10 2018 for giving birth my wife is 32 wks we traveled with Saudi airlines nobody ask her for anything , we arrived JFK not too much crowded as usual , in 4 min interviewed by very nice African American officer (we went fully prepared thanks for this site) please note that my wife is Syrian (country that in the Trump Muslim travel ban )
ME: Good day Sir
CBP: Hello , what are you here for ?
Me: to give birth for our first baby girl
CBP: how much you will stay ?
Me: me is for one week and my wife 12 weeks , as i will only settle her down and i have to go back to my job but i will be back to attend the delivery
CBP: so you have to go back ?
Me: yes , because of my job but i will be back after one month to attend the delivery
CBP: do you have insurance for that ?
Me: no Sir i will pay cash!
CBP: how much do you have with you ?
Me:9800$
CBP: that is good because if you have 10 or more you have to declare
Me: okay Sir
CBP: looking to my wife i will give you one year so you do not need for any extension and take your time till delivery, then look at me , i will give you only 6 months as you will come back
Me: Thanks Sir
CBP is typing and looking to our passports i thought he will change his mind so i asked him can we go Sir he said you are free to go , we collect our bags and no more inspection
thanks for all of you

If another form is filled won't the previous visa be cancelled ?

A popular question...please see a comprehensive response below from Oga abanzi. I think it will apply for mamas who didn't know they were pregnant at interview or who got pregnant after interview. My personal favourite is option 1.

Wow.... mamas please leave early... baby can come 2 weeks before or 2 weeks after EDD....

Imagine after all this many planning and rigorous search, just to have your baby on the plane.... i feel for her.... but thank God they are both safe.

i dont think its a bad option, as long as the person gives birth in the US airways.
you have no bills to pay. just the review session. it would be like home birth.

If you have an existing visa but fill another DS160 and attend another interview...from my experience, the previous visa is cancelled without prejudice..and a new one issued if the interview is successful...that's what happened to me in Dec.

Another mama @Supernaturalone (check page 366 on thread 5) here did the same and hers wasn't cancelled and she was able to use it "as is"...guess it depends on the VO.
