Topic: God and Love
Week 1: The Creator
Genesis 1; 2: 1- 3; Hebrews 11:3, Job 26:7

Memory Verse: Hebrew 11:3 (By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God's command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible)
Learning Objectives: To introduce/sell God to caregivers
For Caregivers to understand that God is the supreme and the only true God
At the end of these teachings caregivers, must be fully persuaded that this God is better and interested to know HIM more
Introduction
Who is your own God, for some here it is that Idol, for others it is Mohammed. But this class we shall be introducing you to the God of Universe. He is God of universe because He created it. And at the end of this month you will ask and know which God truly loves you and that should help you form the decision on the God you should serve.

Discussion:
Who created everything?
God made everything (Our proof is in Genesis 1:1-5)

 Day One, at first the earth was covered in water and there was darkness everywhere. But God had a wonderful plan and purpose for the world, and He did not want it to stay empty.
- So God spoke and said, “Let there be light.” Just as His power had created the heavens and the earth, now His power created the light.
- He called the light ‘Day’ and the darkness ‘Night.’ As God looked at what He had made, He said, “This is good.” It was part of His special plan.
- The Bible says there was evening, and morning, and that was the first day. Before that there had not been any day at all.

Lesson: This God is synonymous to light, cleanliness, beauty, health and life. His work is always beautiful.
In conclusion:
Which God would you rather want to serve a dirty, dark god or a beautiful God?

Week 2: Master Planer
Genesis 1; 2: 1- 3; Hebrews 11:3, Job 26:7

Memory Verse: Hebrew 11:3 (By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God's command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible)
Learning Objectives: To introduce/sell God to caregivers
For Caregivers to understand that God is the supreme and the only true God
At the end of these teachings caregivers, must be fully persuaded that this God is better and interested to know HIM more
Introduction
We established the fact that God is the maker of the universe and was described by the bible to be so.

Discussion:
Who created everything?
God made everything (Our proof is in Genesis 1:1-5)

 Day Number Two – the Bible says that God made the waters to separate into two parts.
- Above the sky there were huge clouds that held lots of water. Then there was the sky, or the air, and below that was all the water on the surface of the earth.
- If there was no air you and I would not be alive because we need air to breathe. So God made the air as part of His special plan.
 - The Bible says there was evening, and there was morning, and that was the end of the second day.

 Day Number Three – God said, “Now, I want the water to gather together so that dry land can come up above the water.” So God spoke and hills and valleys were made.
- Then God looked at the land and said, “I want to have some plants on the land.” So God put the plants on the land. They were not just seeds that God planted. He made full-size plants with different flowers and different leaves. Then He made the trees.
The first trees were already fully-grown with their fruit and seeds, so when the seeds fell to the ground they would grow more trees.
- The plants all had seeds in them so when they fell down to the ground more plants would grow. He made them to grow only the same kind of plants. When we plant a carrot seed what will grow? (Get response) A carrot. Does that mean if we plant a carrot seed we will get rice? (Get response) NO!That is why God said, “Every plant and tree will have seeds to make more of the same kind of plants and trees.”
- God looked at everything He had made and He was very happy. He said, “It is good.” It was also part of His special plan.
- And there was evening and morning, and that was the end of the third day.

In conclusion:
Day 2and 3 God separated then created plant and it didn’t just stop there He also gave the plant capacity to reproduce after its own kind. As God creation you must do great work just as your maker.

Week 3: He is Light
Genesis 1; 2: 1- 3; Hebrews 11:3, Job 26:7

Memory Verse: Hebrew 11:3 (By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God's command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible)
Learning Objectives: To introduce/sell God to caregivers
For Caregivers to understand that God is the supreme and the only true God
At the end of these teachings caregivers, must be fully persuaded that this God is better and interested to know HIM more

Introduction
God knew the importance of light so he made a very bright light for the day and also light for the night.

Discussion:
Who created everything?
God made everything (Our proof is in Genesis 1:1-5)

 On the fourth day God made a very bright light, which He called the sun. He said, “The sun will shine and bring light in the day time.”
- He also created the moon and all the stars so that they would give some light at night.
- God must have been very busy because there are millions of stars! He made all the stars and put them in the sky.
- Then God looked at them all and said, “This is all good. It was just the way He wanted it, because it was all part of His special plan.
- There was evening, and there was morning and that was the end of the fourth day.
 On the fifth dayGod looked at the sea, and He said, “Let there be living things in the sea!”
- So He made all kinds of things to live in the sea. He made dolphins and whales and sharks, and all different kinds of fish, starfish, jellyfish, and thousands of other things that live in the sea. God created every one of them.
- Then He said, “Let the sky be full of all kinds of different birds.” So He made birds of all different colours and sizes, and put them in the sky.
- Then He looked and said, “That is very good!” This was another part of His special plan.
- And then there was evening and there was morning and that was the end of day number five.

In conclusion:
God is a lover of light and if we claim we are His own, we should embrace lights and be light. Light does not lie, steal, deceive, selfish etc.

Week 4: (God’s biggest Creation)
Genesis 1; 2: 1- 3; Hebrews 11:3, Job 26:7

Memory Verse: Hebrew 11:3 (By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God's command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible)
Learning Objectives: Caregiver must be convince that God has invested greatly in him/her and as such should result in caregivers self-esteem to increase
To introduce/sell God to caregivers
For Caregivers to understand that God is the supreme and the only true God
At the end of these teachings caregivers, must be fully persuaded that this God is better and interested to know HIM more

Introduction
God kept is best for the last day of creation; God wanted this person to enjoy the best of life and made everything so that he could have all. This creation was so important to God that He had to call the first ever board meeting to discuss how he could make this creation just exactly like Him.

Discussion:
What was the creation that was so dear to God? Answer: YOU! Genesis 1:26

 Day Number Six God looked at all the dry land and said, “I want this whole land to be full of all different kinds of animals.”
- When He had made all the animals He looked at everything that was now on the earth. He thought, “Now that all this is finished, everything is ready.”
- Ready for what? Ready for the most special part of God’s wonderful plan!
- The next thing God did was something very special. He took some ground from the earth and made it into the shape of a person. When He got it just the way that He wanted it, the Bible says that God breathed into the nose of the shape that He had made. God’s breath was so powerful, that the shape made out of the ground became a living person.
- The first person that God made was called Adam.
Then Adam said to God, “I have not found anybody here that I could be really good friends with. There are many animals, but there is nobody just like me.”
- So God’s very special plan was to make people. And all the other things He made were just part of getting the earth ready to be a wonderful home for these people.
- But why do you think God made people? (Get ideas from the students) here is the reason why. God has a heart filled with love and He wants to share that love. He made people just so that He would have someone to love. And of course, he wanted them to love him in return.
- It is wonderful to know that God made people for one special reason – so they could be loved by him.
- And that is the same reason God made you and everyone else in the world. Part of His special plan is that He wants to share His love with you, and He also wants you to love Him.
- Now that the first people and their wonderful home on earth had been finished, God looked at everything He had made and said, “It is very good.”
- When He looks at you, He thinks you are very good! That is because you are part of His special plan, you are not a mistake.
- There was evening, and there was morning, and that was the end of the sixth day.

 Day Number SevenGod had a rest. God enjoyed everything that He had made. He must have thought, “It is all great. I do not want to change any of it.
- “Now I have made some people that I can share my love with, and I have made a beautiful world for them to live in.”
Activity: Alter call
In conclusion:God looked at His works and saw it was good and He rested, you should always ask yourself if your work, soup that cloth you’ve watched is good and when you are sure you done a great job, rest.

Week 5: God’s Love
1John 4: 8, Jeremiah 31:3,
Memory Verse: John 11:3 (For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life)
Learning Objectives: To introduce/sell God to caregivers through is Love
Let the caregivers understand no one has the capacity to love them like God does
Let them understand that God’s interest is in other types of love

Introduction
- The subject of love is a very sensitive one because it is important to God and the devil; 1John 4:8 tells us that this would help us to constantly define the kingdom we belong to. So, if the subject is sensitive to God and devil, what that informs us, is that there is a way we love of God and another of the devil. So, in the class for this month we will be emphasizing how we can love God’s way and how to recognize that of the devil.

Discussion:
There are seven types of Love, which we will discuss as this class progresses this month.
• Eros: Love of the body. Eros was the Greek word of love and sexual desire. ...
• Philia: Love of the mind. Also known as brotherly love, Philia represents the sincere and platonic love. ...
• Ludus: Playful love.
• Pragma: Longstanding love.
• Agape: Love of the soul.
• Philautia: Love of the self.
• Storge: Love of the child.

 Truth about Love:
 Love belongs to God and Love is God 1John 4:8
 Love is a Fruit of the spirit so, if anyone is not planted in Christ they cannot be able to produce after the order of God’s love as described in Galatians 5:22
 Devil does not have capacity to Love; he can only pretend, so as to steal things in our lives. Mathew 4:11
 Love is God’s Commandment redefined by Christ Mathew 22:36-40
 Love gives “first” and not takes “first” John 3:16
 The love of God is eternal Jeremiah 31:3
 Mention others

In conclusion:
God’s love that we are enjoying and been charged to exhibit can’t be achieved outside God (1 John 4:19). God himself is love so if we must love God, ourselves and neighbors we must therefore abide in Him, because it is only IN and through HIM we can fully express and enjoy God’s kind of love.

Week 6: Valentine’s Day
Jeremiah 31:3, Romans 5:8
Memory Verse: John 3:16 (For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life)
Learning Objectives: To introduce/sell God to caregivers through is Love
God’s love knows no bound
Let the caregivers understand no one has the capacity to love them like God does
Let them understand that God’s interest is in other types of love also, but particular about timing

Introduction
- We were able to establish last week that God’s love is forever (Jere 31:3).And that God’s love has nothing to do with time and feelings, He love us so passionately that He made His love for us to be an everlasting love. Valentine is just by the corner a day set aside to celebrates and expresses love. As a Christian it is good we embrace this opportunity but more importantly, love for us is our own way of life and we shouldn't limit it to a particular day of the year.

February 14, is a day that has been described as lover’s day and as such there will be at least seven different types of love in expression on that day. So, in today’s class we will be examining three out of the seven types of love

Discussion:
What is Love? 1 Corinthians 13:4-5

Love Types

• Eros: Love of the body. Eros was the Greek word for God of love and sexual desire. Eros kind of love is only permitted by God to exist between husband and wife and not between boyfriend and girlfriend.
Ephesians 5:3, Hebrew 13:4, 1Corithians 6:18, Genesis 2:24

• Philautia: Love of the self. God wants us to love ourselves to the fullest. You must like the person you see in the mirror and everything about you. How Do I love myself? Ephesians 5:29, Proverbs 19:8, Psalm 139:14

• Philia: Love of the mind. Also known as brotherly love, Philia represents the sincere and platonic love. ... So, God does not just want us to love ourselves, so he also gave us Philia (the brotherly love). Mark 12:31, Leviticus 19:34, James 2:8, Leviticus 19:18

Conclusion:
In conclusion it is now clear that no love is wrong, the timing and the context of showing it might be the thing wrong with it. But like we established last week that God’s kind of love gives first and He also expects us to love same. John 3:16

Week 7: A Day after Valentine
John15:13, Leviticus 19:18 ns 5:8,
Memory Verse: John 3:16 (For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life)
Learning Objectives: To introduce/sell God to caregivers through is Love
Let the caregivers understand no one has the capacity to love them like God does
Let them understand that God’s interest is in other types of love also, but particular about timing

Introduction
- So, a day after valentine what should happen to love? Then brotherly love should continue as God have commanded it. God is love. I hope you still remember that fact about God? And as a result He wants us to replicate such. He led so much emphasis on it importance so He decided making it a law. Therefore in today’s class we shall be looking at the two major types of brotherly love we can express to people around us.

Discussion:
What is Brotherly Love? Is a love express to people, by seeing each other as a part of God. God created everyone including you and as a result all of us are siblings and as a result treat others as yourself. Genesis 5:2, 1:27

Who is your brother or sister? Matthew 12:48-49, Luke 8:21

Love Types

• Ludus: is the flirtatious and teasing kind of love, the love mostly accompanied by dancing or laughter. It’s the child-like and fun kind of love. Jeremiah 30:19, 20, Jeremiah 31:13

• Storge: This is the love parents naturally feel for their children. It’s based on natural feelings and effortless love. Storge is the love that knows forgiveness, acceptance and sacrifice. It is the one that makes you feel secure, comfortable and safe.1 John 3:1

Conclusion:
Brotherly love is a type of love bible encourages us to have towards one another. The love of Christ was described as a great love because a life was given for a friend (John 15:13).

Week 8: Best Love Ever
Romans 11:29, Jeremiah 31:3
Memory Verse: John 3:16 (For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life)
Learning Objectives: To introduce/sell God to caregivers through is Love
Let the caregivers understand no one has the capacity to love them like God does
Let them understand that God’s interest is in other types of love also, but particular about timing

Introduction
- In Romans 11:29 the bible made us to understand that God’s gift to us is without repentance. I hope you remember that God is love, don’t ever forget and his proof of His love is John 3:16. God gave you and me the best gift ever! But here is the assurance of God’s love it’s without repentance and that God would never change His mind towards us.

Discussion:
What do you think God’s love is? So what made it possible for God to love us unconditionally and forever? Today, we will be looking at the remaining 2 types of love that we have left.

Love Types

• Pragma:The everlasting love between married couples, which develops over a long period of time. Pragma was the highest form of love; the true commitment that comes from understanding, compromise and tolerance. It is pragmatic this is why it is referred to as “standing in love” rather than “falling in love” because it grows over time and requires profound understanding between lovers who have been together for many years. Jeremiah 31:3

• Agape: It is the selfless kind of love, the love for humanity. It is the unconditional love. The love you give without expecting anything in return reflected in all charitable acts. It is the compassionate love that makes us sympathize with, help and connect to people we don’t know. The world needs more Agape. Luke 10:27-37

Activity: Alter call
Conclusion:
Just as God has loved us with an everlasting and longstanding love, so also we expected to love God, Parents, Friends, Neighbors, Co-worker, Boss, Children, Uncles & Aunties including our enemies (Mathew 5:43-45). This is what truly makes us a child of God

Action Point: Prayer for grace to love people just as God loved me, so that I may be called a son or daughter of God.

1. Memory Verse
My children, our love should not be only words and talk.
Our love must be true love. And we should show that love by
what we do.
I John 3:18 (ICB)
2. Week One- What Is Love
SUNDAY, 4th March 2018
Learning Objectives The objective of this lesson is to introduce the DCC JC child to God’s love.
At the end of the lesson, the children should be able to understand what God’s love is and the
understand characteristics of love.
At the end of the lesson, the caregiver should be able to understand what God’s love is, and that
they are all beneficiaries of God’s love irrespective of their background.
Bible Reference: 1 John 4:7-21; ROMANS 5:8
Introduction: Definition of Love: In the last four weeks we have been discussing the deferent type of love. Allow
caregivers define love.
Can a tomato give you the taste of a banana?
Imagine you are blindfolded, would you be able to identify a fruit you are
familiar with from the taste (allow the class to response). However, if you
haven’t heard or tasted the fruit before, you may not. Your inability to
identify the fruit does not change the nature of the fruit. You may enjoy it, be
nourished by it and desire it without knowing it’s name. You may even go to
the market ascribing another name to the fruit. So it is with God’s love,
everyone enjoys it, benefit from it but many do not know it.
Lesson Outline: a. Where does love come from?
Love comes from God. Rom 5:5
b. Why does God love us?
- Because God is love; love is His nature 1 John 4:8 (encourage interactive session)
c. Who should we love?
- Love God – You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and
with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. Math 22:37-38
- Love your family
- Love your Friends and neighbours – And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your
neighbour as yourself. Math 22:39
- Love your enemies – You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbour and
hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to
those who hate you, and pray those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you
may be sons of your Father in heaven; Math 15:43-45
e. Characteristics Of Love
- Love is patient and kind
- Love does not brag and is not boastful
- Love is not rude
- Love is not jealous
- Love is not proud
- Love is not selfish
- Love does not get easily angry
- Love does not keep record of evil
- Love takes no pleasure in evil, but rejoices over the truth
Brief Discussion: How realistic is it to love our ‘enemies’?
Note to Teachers: If you would want to love God in return and don’t know how, you have to start by accepting His
gift, Jesus.
Teacher should lead the willing caregiver in prayer of salvation.
In Conclusion God is love, we experience His love everywhere we go irrespective of our colors, tribes and status
and He want us to love Him in return.
3. Week Two- What is Love?/ ACTIVITY WEEK
SUNDAY, 18th March 2018
Learning Objectives At the end of this lesson, the children should know that God truly loves us (despite our sinful
nature) and that there are different types of love that He recognises for our wellbeing.
Bible Reference: Luke 15:11-31
Introduction: The Prodigal Son
God loves us -no matter how bad we have been.
Have you ever been bad? (Wait for answers.)
How bad have you been? (Pause and then go on…)
Have you ever been so bad that you got in trouble?
Have you ever been so bad that you got punished by your parents or guardians?
Have you ever been so bad that… your parents wouldn’t love you anymore? (No!)
Lesson Outline: Read the passage to the children, then in your own words, tell the story outlining the following:
1. A certain man had two sons.
2. One son collected his inheritance
3. Money was squandered
4. Eating with the Pigs
5. The Son “Comes to Himself” and went back home
6. Can you imagine a child thinking he has done something so bad that he couldn’t be called a
son anymore? (No!)
7. Arriving Home
8. The Father welcomed his son home
Note to Teachers: Teacher should lead the Caregivers to God.
In Conclusion: God’s love is so rich, deep, wide and pure that He gave up His ONLY Son to die for our sins.
4. Week Three- Understanding God’s Love
SUNDAY, 18th March 2018
Learning Objectives At the end of this lesson, the children should know that God truly loves us (despite our sinful
nature) and that there are different types of love that He recognises for our wellbeing.
Bible Reference: John 3:16 ; 1 John 4:7-21
Introduction: There are many people who love us and who we love in return. Our parents, siblings, cousins, best
friends, Madam etc. However, God loves us even MORE. He wants all His children to come to Him
so that He can reward them, give them a bright future, much success in life and to reign with Him
in His kingdom.
Lesson Outline: 1. How can we know that He loves us?
a. He created us in His own image. Genesis 1:26
b. He lovingly made creation. Romans 1:20
c. He forgives us. Psalms 85:2
d. He lovingly sent Jesus to us. John 3:16
e. He lovingly sent us the Holy Spirit. Romans 5:5
2 Ask the class to think of ways that people show love
Emphasise that there are different types of love depending on the relationship of the people
involved (such as romantic,
friendship, parental, spiritual, etc). We receive the greatest
example of love from God because He perfectly loves us in spite of our sins.
Song: I am so glad that Jesus Loves me,
Jesus loves me/2x
I am so glad that Jesus Loves me,
Jesus loves even me.
(Encourage them sing the song in their different languages)
Note to Teachers: Teacher should lead the Caregivers to God.
In Conclusion: God want us to demonstrate love to others just as He has been to us.
5. Week Four- Understanding God’s Love/ ACTIVITY WEEK
SUNDAY, 25th March 2018

ultimate love for us is the sacrifice of His Son to us. We attempt to emphasis the pain that Christ
went through for us

Introduction: Briefly Discuss the sequence to the cross:
1. The Triumphant Entry Matthew 21:1-11
2. Judas Plan to betray Jesus Mathew 26:14
3. The Celebration of the Passover and the Last Supper Mathew 26:17-30
4. The Garden of Gethsemane Matthew 26:36-56
5. Jesus is Betrayed Matthew 26:47-55
6. Jesus’ Trial and Peter’s Denial Matthew 26:57-74

Activity -Videos: Short Clip on Cruxifixction of Christ

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wUFsL-FNDVI&feature=youtu.be
Conclusion: Jesus was maltreated, betrayed by someone close to Him, denied by His disciple, beaten and spat
on, crown with torn and He remained silence, even unto death, because He loves us and He knew,
except He dies, we cannot be fully reconciled to God. (Hebrew 9:22).
6. Week Five- Love Is Sacrifice
7. Week Six- Love Is Sacrifice/ ACTIVITY WEEK
SUNDAY, 1st APRIL 2018
Learning Objectives The objective of today’s lesson is to impress upon the DCC JC child that God kept His promise of
using His son as the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. Jesus dies and resurrected just as He said He
would!!
The children should know that God expects us to love one another like Christ loved us.
Bible Reference: John 3:16 ; 1 Peter 1 :17 - 22
Introduction: Last week we learnt on how Jesus endured all pains, shame, denials and betrayer and finally
crucified. The Good news is Jesus is Risen!!
Lesson Outline: a. God kept to His promise, He raised Jesus from Death
b. What makes this love so amazing:
i. It is highlighted against the backdrop of a debt that each one of us owes(sin inherited from
birth Psalm 51:5; Genesis 3:10, Isaiah 64:6)
ii. The debt cannot be paid for by good deeds, or money (Ephesians 2:8-9, Galatians 2:16;
Matthew 19:16,21-24)
iii. The debt can only be paid for by sacrificing someone with no sin 2Cor. 5:21
iv. The only qualified person, is Jesus who had no sin and was not conceive in sin 1 Peter
1:19
v. God’s love is demonstrated by sacrificing Jesus. 2 Cor 5:14
vi. God loves us with an everlasting love that words fail to describe.
The first thing you can do to reciprocate or show God that you love Him, is to accept Jesus into
your life. Teachers are to lead the willing caregivers to Christ
Conclusion: We know God is loving because He sent Jesus to die for our sins so we may have a relationship
with Him and go to Heaven.
We also know that God is loving because every created thing has a purpose and points us to Him.
SUNDAY, 8th April 2018
Learning Objectives That Love never fails, God kept His promise of sending Jesus to finish our work of salvation through
His death and resurrection.
Give caregiver assurance of God’s love from other passages of the Bible
Bible Reference: John 3:16 ; 1 Peter 1 :17 - 22
Discussion 1. Apart from God sacrificing His son for us
2. What other things /assurances we have that He loves us
- God loves you so much that He engraved your name on the palm of His hand. Isaiah 49:16
- He loves you so much that He knows how many hairs are on your head Matthew 10:30
- He loves you so much that He keeps account and record all your tears Psalms 56:8
- He said He loves us with everlasting love Jeremiah 31:3
- He said He will never leave us Hebrew 13:5-6
3. In what other way have you experienced God’s love
4. Children should allow to share their experience of God’s love, if any
Conclusion: Everything that happens in our lives is important to God and take note of them, when we love we
make sacrifice of our time, emotion, pride and resources for those we truly love.
Note: Teachers should let the caregivers know that God loves them, no matter we are going
through, He will never leave us.
8. Week Seven- Practising God’s Love
SUNDAY,15th APRIL 2018
Learning Objectives To teach the caregivers practical ways of showing God’s kind of love to others.
Re-emphasis the characteristics of Love, and how it can be expressed in our daily lives
Bible Reference: Colossians 3: 12-15
Introduction: This week we will be looking at practical ways to exhibit God’s love
Lesson Outline: How can we copy and practice God’s Love?
Be Patient and Kind: -Especially those your are working for -Kindness is not weakness. Naaman’s
Wife House maid – 2 King 5:1-2
Don’t be rude and proud: – God’s kind of love is not rude and proud. Romans 12:3
Don’t get angry easily and keep record of wrong 1 Cor 13:5
Don’t be selfish vs. 5 always consider effect of your action on others. Learn to make sacrifice for
others. James 2:15-16; Philippians 2:3-4
Forgive – Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another.
Forgive as the Lord forgave you. Col 3:13
The Caregivers are to volunteer to do something without being asked to. When they come to
church next week they will come to the front to share what they did, how it made them feel and
how they think it must make God feel.
Note to Teachers: Children should be made to understand that though it might be hard to exhibit love like God has
commanded, it is possible through the help of God.
Conclusion: Though sometimes we want to express love has expressed by God, but we find it difficult. God’s
kind of love can be expressed through the help of the Holy Sprit coupled with our determination
and commitment. Remember that bible says he who doesnot love does not know God, because
God is love.

must prove faithful.
1 Corinthians 4:2 (NIV)
2. Week One- What Is Stewardship?
3. Week Two- I Care For The World God Has Made/ ACTIVITY WEEK
SUNDAY, 3rd June 2018
Learning Objectives At the end of the lesson,
1. To help the caregivers to understand what stewardship is.
2. To help the caregivers to understand that we are stewards of God's creation.
Bible Reference: Genesis 1:26-31; 2:1-20
Introduction: Who is a steward: a steward could be defined as a person who manages another's property or
financial affairs; one who administers anything as the agent of another or others.
2. a person who has charge of the household of another, buying or obtaining food, directing the
servants, etc.
3. anyone or anything that is subject to leadership is a steward.
Stewardship is a position of a steward; the job of supervising or taking care of something, such as
an organisation, property, family or an house hold.
We can say a caregiver is her madam steward because you have to report to your madam, take care
of the house, the children and the entire house according to your boss instructions.
And at end you will realise that we are all a steward one way or the other.
Lesson Outline: 1 We can be stewards of God’s assignment
2 We can be stewards of time and finance and even our body.
The teachers will look for contemporary stories to drive home these points.
3 The caregivers should share how they can link their respective responsibilities to that of a
steward
Tell the caregivers that God also trusts them to take care of the earth and every living creature
on the earth. God’s creation is too important to be left to the care of strangers; namely, those
who do not know and worship God. Christians are God’s hands and feet on the earth!

So what happens when we make good use of the things God has given us.
Subsequently, what happens when we fail to make good use of our gifts?
Lesson Outline: Good Stewardship
David was a steward over his father’s sheep
David took care of his father’s sheep like they were his own.
David did not leave his father’s sheep when no one was watching him, but he was responsible and
kept watch over them, even though no one was watching him.
God has been watching David taking care of his father’s sheep and although, he was the youngest
of his father’s children, God rewarded to be the next King of Israel and not any of his brothers.

Re: Teacher Raph Stuffs by Ezebohirepurcha(m): 6:36pm On Jul 03, 2018
We spoke about *first things first* last week and by now we must have had our business Registered with all necessary stationary in place.

So, during the last 7 days you came across a client who now recognise you as a professional realtor and told you he would like your company assist him in selling his house at Banana Island. What should you do now ?

This leads us to our topic of the day, *Protecting Your Interest As A Realtor*. How do you protect your interest as a realtor if you begin working on that client's brief and you eventually get a buyer that pays for his house at Banana Island which was sold for N300 million and they seller decides to pay you N300,000 for a work well done and you are angry with him that he was supposed to have paid you about 5% of the sales value to the tune of N15 million naira, rather you get N300k coz the man looks at you like an hungry agent that should jump for joy in receiving the peanut of N300k.

Now this is where packaging your self matters. The way you package yourself tells a lot about the value that would be accorded to you by people you meet and interact with.

Most importantly is the way you dress. How you dress is not to be taken for a joke. I remembered that, I went for a meeting somewhere at Ikeja that I had to be excluded from the meeting just because of my dress sense then. We should learn to dress corporately most times we are going to see a client in his office along with your shinning shoes and a good looking wristwatch to compliment your looks. One agent I respect a lot for his packaging and dress sense is MASH unfortunately he is not on this platform. He has a good dress sense that you would think he is always making millions of naira every week.

Next is that you need a legal document that should protect your interest. Assuming that you have entered into a written agreement with your Banana Island client before you started work on his property. That would have been the document you could have taken to your lawyer to help you fight to recope your balance of over N14 million in such a transaction. This is to protect your interest.

I will drop two samples of such letters here for us today. It is usually know as Mandate Letter or Letter of Authority to sell on behalf of the owner.

This first sample has to do with the one prepared by your client on his own letter head instructing you to sell for him below:

MANDATE CONFIRMATION AND INSTRUCTION

The Manager

Ojo Alaba,
Lagos

This mandate confirms your appointment as:

*one of our agents

*sole agents for a period of_____________________________ (*please delete the inapplicable)

This mandate remains in force until cancelled by me/us in writing, or until the property is sold, whichever is the earliest.  As seller, I/we undertake to advise you of any change in the terms of this mandate, and to notify you of any price changes, options given or if the property is sold privately or by another agent.

Your commission will be deducted from the above mentioned sale price should you arrange a satisfactory sale . In this regard, I/We agree to pay commission at the rate of 5% of the sale price.

In the event that I/we refuse an offer at the asking price during the currency of the mandate, I acknowledge that ABC Real Estate Ltd. has the right to recover advertising costs and administration fees. Signed............................................            Dated....................................

While, the second template is for both you and your client to sign jointly, which should be prepared by your Lawyer. It is always good that you have your own personal lawyer for your business purposes in real estate transactions

1. Memory Verse
We can come to God with no doubts. This means that when
we ask God for things (and those things agree with what God
wants for us), then God cares about what we say.
1 John 5:14 (ICB)
2. Week One- What Is Prayer?
3. Week Two- What is Prayer?/ ACTIVITY WEEK
SUNDAY, 5th August 2018
Learning Objectives For the Caregivers to know what prayer is and why we pray.
Bible Reference: Mark 11:24; Matthew 7:7-8 and Jeremiah 29:13; James 5: 13 - 16
Introduction: Prayer is spiritual communication between man and God, a two-way relationship in which man
should not only talk to God but also listen to Him.
Prayer is a Christian tool or way of communicating to God. And just as we communicate regularly
with the people we see or love that is the exact measure bible advises us to pray to God.
Lesson Outline: 1. Why do we pray?
- To maintain relationship and connection with God – Story of Adam & Eve talking to God in the
garden of Eden.
- To build our faith – Building your most holy faith
- To ask for help- provision, direction, clarification –
- To build our faith – we build up our faith when we pray in the Holy spirit. Jude 1:20
- Other texts: John 1:6; Col 2:3; Luke 21:15; Jeremiah 15
Interactive Session: Contemporary stories/application:
How do you know who your friends are( allow the caregivers to respond)
Teachers: Your friend is someone you feel free to talk to about anything at any time. It is
communication that makes friends strive. Imagine if you call someone your friend and in one
month you did not talk to or with the person, do you think that relationship is real? (No). So it is
with God, God is our heavenly father and our friend He want to fellowship with us, and want you
to be free with Him and this you can do through prayer.
Summary: Our prayer works if it builds, enhances or deepens the relationship between the one who prays and
the one whom those prayers are directed.
Pray without season, pray even you don’t feel so. In this month we will discuss everything about
prayer and we will also practice how to pray.
Note to Teachers: It should be emphasized that listening to God is part of prayer. Children should be encouraged to
take some time to listen after saying their prayers because God also wants to speak with us.
Altar Call: Before you can pray to God you need to have a relationship with Him. He is loving and kind and
eager to have a relationship with everyone. If you are yet to accept Jesus into your life, the only
prayer He can listen to from you, is the prayer asking Him to be your Friend and savior.
Action Point: 15 minute of praying to God
Song: Prayer is the key
SUNDAY, 12th August 2018
Learning Objectives The children should be able to reminded on the definition of and reasons for prayer

4. Week Three- Types Of Prayer
5. Week Four- Types Of Prayer/ ACTIVITY WEEK
SUNDAY, 19th August 2018
Learning Objectives For the Caregivers to understand the types of prayer that may be made.
Bible Reference: Mark 11:24; Matthew 7:7-8 and Jeremiah 29:13; James 5: 13 – 16
Introduction: While petition (asking for our needs or desires) is a legitimate and well-known part of prayer,
prayer involves more than just asking God for things. Imagine a friendship in which nothing but
request or demands were communicated. No words of affection. No thanks or compliments or
appreciation. No sharing of hopes or dreams or even sorrows. Just “I need this or “give me that”.
Would you ever want a relationship like that? Could you run away from it fast enough, or put
differently, between a person who comes to you to always ask for something and the person who
comes to gist, tell you his plans and even praise you for all you have been doing for him, which of
them would you attend to first?
This takes us to the fact that there are differently types of prayers.
Lesson Outline: So what are the types of prayers as seen in the bible?
a. Prayer of Supplication and Petition - We pray for ourselves, for things that we need or want, ask
God to help us do things that we find hard to do. These are prayers that are centered on ourselves.
An example in the bible – Jabez prayed to God to bless him. God answered his prayer and granted
him all he asked for.(Also called Prayer of blessing) 1 Chronicles 4:9-10
b. Prayer of Intercession- This is when we pray on behalf of other people or places. We can pray
for our friends, family and even our country or other countries. An example is in Acts 12: 5 when
the church prayed for Peter when he was in prison and God sent an angel to rescue him. 1 Tim
2:1-5 urges us to pray for our leaders i.e. presidents, governors, etc.
c. Prayer of Confession: - This is the prayer we say when we have erred against the laws and
commandments of God. 1 John 1:9 – gives us the assurance that God will forgive us if we confess
our sins.
David prayed for forgiveness in Psalm 51.
d. Prayer of Thanksgiving - In this prayer we take the time to thank God for the many things he has
given us. An example in the bible - Moses and the Israelites thank God Exodus 15:1-11
e. Prayer of agreement – The Prayer of Agreement is when we pray with other believers for
something specific. All parties involved must agree with the prayer and its outcome. Mat18:19-20
f. Prayer of Warfare- Ephesians 6:12-18
Interactive Session: There should be practical prayer session after each lesson.
Summary: Having talked about different types of prayer that may be made. It is important that we can make
all of this prayer in any situation we find our selves.
Altar Call: If you are yet to establish a relationship with God by accepting Jesus into your life as your personal
Saviour, the first type of prayer you need to make is that of confession. Confess Jesus as lord and

6. Week Five - How to Pray
7. Week Six- How to Pray/ ACTIVITY WEEK
SUNDAY, 2nd September 2018
Learning Objectives At the end of the lesson, the caregivers should learn how to pray
Bible Reference: Matthew 6:9-13
Introduction: The Lord's Prayer is a basic and very important pattern as Jesus taught us to pray when the disciples
asked. Given by Jesus in Matthew 6:9-14 ("This is how you should pray He said), it is considered an
outline of an individual Christian's relationship with God and other people. It praises the Lord and
covers everything we need in this life and to attain happiness.
Lesson Outline: 1. What Do I Say?
a. Worship God: “our father who art in heaven Hallowed be your name” Here, you
worship God as your Father and lift up His name as Holy.
b. Praise the Lord’s kingdom and desire its fulfillment: "Thy kingdom come." His kingdom
brings righteousness, peace, and joy, and you are asking Him to usher these values into
the world.
c. Entrust your life into the hands of the Lord, saying: "Thy will be done in earth as it is in
heaven." God is just and kind, and He sees what is best for you in the long run, so you
seek to submit yourself to His will.
d. Ask God to help you with your daily needs by praying: "Give us this day our daily
bread."
e. Ask Him to wash away your sin, while reminding you that you should let go of your
grudges and anger. "Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us."
f. Ask God to guard you from temptation and evil. "Lead us not into temptation but
deliver us from evil."
g. Declare His power, trusting that everything is possible with Him, saying: "For Thine is
the Kingdom, the Power and the Glory forever."
2. How Do I Say IWhile Praying as the Lord taught us, we could pray int
a. Using the word of God Isaiah 55: 10 -11
b. In tongues 1Cor 14:14
c. Prophesying Prayer Jer 1:7
d. Fasting and praying Acts 13:2-3; Matthew 17:21
Summary: By the time you used the model of our Lord’s prayer, you would have covered all the type of
prayers as taught last week. It is important to note that while praying for our self, we should pray
according to God’s will for our live, pray using the word of God, in tongues, prophesying over your
life or situation and also fast.
Altar Call: The Lord’s prayer is for the children of God and that is why He taught us to start with “our father”
can you call God your father? You can only do so if you have accepted Jesus into your life.
SUNDAY, 9th September 2018
Learning Objectives At the end of the lesson, the children should be reminded that prayer need not be complicated and
the Lord’s prayer is a model.
Also talk about Joshua 1:8

8. Week Seven- Different Ways to Pray
SUNDAY, 16th September 2018
Learning Objectives For caregiver to understand different style, posture and activities that prayer may be made.
To Make the Caregivers understand that no posture or style taken is superior to another and cleared
some misconception about prayer.
Bible Reference: Psalm 66:16-20, James 4:3, 1 John 5:14-15
Introduction: God has promised to answer our prayers when we pray, however, there are reasons our prayers
don’t get answered. Also, God answers us in different ways.
Lesson Outline: a. Vocal Prayer: 1 King 18: 27; 36-38; 2King 1:10-13 (Elijah and the prophet of Baal; Psalm 3:4;
Psalm 18:18
b. Meditation/ Meditative Prayer: Joshua 1: 8; (David) Psalm 5:1; Psalm 6
c. Quiet Prayer (Hannah) 1 Samuel 1:9-28
d.
Wrong perceptions of prayer
a. That you need to make long prayer to have an answered prayer: Matthew 6: 5- The more prayer,
the more power. While this may be true, it’s also true that many people seek God for extensive
periods of time with no results. God hears because we are on His agenda, not because of our
effort or sacrifice. Biblical prayer flowed out of understanding what God was doing. No matter
how earnestly one prays, praying in the wrong direction or for the wrong thing has no more
power than not praying at all. Staying focused on God’s person and purposes helps us avoid the
pitfall of misdirected, fruitless praying.
b. That it is only when you shout that the Lord will hear you. Matthew 23:14. Consider the Jews of
Jeremiah and Ezekiel’s day who prayed and fasted, yet perished. Consider the Pharisees of
Jesus’ day who diligently prayed, yet the Romans destroyed Jerusalem. Both Scripture accounts
affirm that God’s mighty hand never moved on their behalf. Thus, praying does not guarantee
success.
c. That once you are a child of God all your prayers must be answered. In the Bible God never
separates the request from the condition of the heart of the one praying. Who you are and what
you ask have direct correlation with each other. James 5:16 read,” Instead it reads, “The
effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much” (italics mine, for emphasis). Therefore,
you cannot implement a program, or devise a strategy, and expect God to bless it unless you
are connected to Him.
d. Prayer changes things: No, God changes things. If prayer changed things, then many world
religions would have incredible spiritual impact. Instead, God remains sovereign. He alone
determines what happens, not our prayers, but we need to ask Him for what we want.
e. There is power in prayer: The power is in God. Anyone who believes prayer has power might
also substitute the activity of prayer for an encounter with God. The goal is to pray, allowing the
prayer to create the opportunity for an encounter with God.
Altar Call: The Lord wants us to talk with Him and listen for His voice. He wants to have an ever-growing
relationship with us. He is so much more than just the One to whom we take our requests. We
don’t need Him to answer our prayers exactly as we see fit. All we really need is Him. Call Him
into your life first, and other things will follow.
9. Week Eight- Causes of Unanswered Prayers
10. Week NINE- REVISION SUNDAY/ ACTIVITY WEEK
SUNDAY, 23rd September 2018
Learning Objectives For the caregiver to know that there are times that we pray and we donot get answered.
That the fact that our prayer is not answered does not mean that God is not potent or has ceased to
be God.
Bible Reference: Psalm 66:16-20, James 4:3, 1 John 5:14-15
Introduction: God has promised to answer our prayers when we pray, however, there are reasons our prayers
