Aero Contractors Low Cost Tickets by Nobody: 6:06pm On Apr 10, 2010 |
Dear Friends, Recently or not so recently, Aerocontractors, one of the local airlines operating in Nigeria announced flight rates rates (domestic) as low as N3,000.00 (three thousand naira). Within the past week, I happened to travel by this airline on the promo ticket. My experience (outside the plane please) is better described as horrible. I dont know if there is anyone who has had a recent experience travelling with Aerocontractors. Please let us share before I relate mine. |

I flew with them over the weekend (not with a N3,000 ticket though)and had to stay at the Airport from 10a.m to about 3p.m, because (according to Aero staff) a smaller plane was made available for my 11.50a.m flight and I could not get on it, even though I arrived at the airport almost 2hours before my flight |

The regulatory body if there is one should be coming down hard on any of these poor services by the airlines. |

Brothers and Sisters, Make una no vex. I dropped this one. I have been busy thats why I didnt post my experience. Here it is. I bought the book ahead pay ahead ticket from Areo Contractors (No Problem) on the day of the outward trip, I was on my way to the airport for the 2.20 flight when I got a text that the flight has ben rescheduled to 5.30. (No Problem). I decided to do some other things though there was no explanation (as always) for this delay. In the evening, I got to the airport check-in counter by 4pm and was told that "The flight is full". No explanation, no apologies. I was adviced to visit the Aero contractors ticketing office at the MM2. (Small problem because I had rescheduled one of the meetings I was to attend to 7pm due to the earlier reschedulment of the flight). I got to the ticketing office only to be told in a mocking way that I missed the flight and so I had to pay extra to upgrade my ticket so that I can be booked to next mornings flight. (There were up to eight of us in this exact same predicament). The shouting match started. Not one of their staff took any responsibility. The only language was SORRY, YOU DID NOT COME EARLY, YOU HAVE TO PAY N3,000 or you loose your ticket. From that time untill about 8pm, they changed some of the afected passengers ticket to the next morning. SOm people who were in a hurry paid extra and were upgraded. Seeing that I have missed my own appointment for that day, I decided to fight to the "death". At about 8pm, one of their officers decided to "do me a favour" and changed my ticket to the next mornings flight. These are my issues; 1. Why was my ticket changed after I shouted and threatened? Does it mean that if I was gentle, I would have lost my money? 2. Why were all affected passengers not brought together and treated the same way if there was a regulation guiding the handling of such incidents? 3. I noticed that it was only those that shouted and threatened to do something dramantic that had their tickets changed AT NO EXTRA COST. Why is it so? Those that didn't want "wahala" either paid extra or just went away. My Conclusion Aero contractors did a good thing by introducing this promo, but they should go the extra mile to ensure that they have the right staff and logistics to support it and deliver on it. (I must mention that on the day of this incident, their duty manager clearly told us that he cannot talk to us because he was very busy. I must mention that while all these were going on, I had brought out my phone and recorded videos and pictures of all the incident. I will post them when denials start flying. Finally, is there anyone out there to protect Nigerian consumers or do we all have to get mad before we get service? |
