New Olubadan palace patterned after Burkingham's
THE proposed new palace of the Olubadan of Ibadanland is designed after the Buckingham Palace in England.

The Olubadan, Oba Samuel Odulana, said this on Tuesday, while receiving member of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII), led by its president, Chief Yusuf Akande.

The CCII visited the Olubadan to greet him on his 96th birthday which comes up today.

Oba Odulana told the CCII members that the design for the new palace had been concluded, with a committee of prominent Ibadan indigenes set for its execution.

He commended the council for its interests in developing Ibadanland and prayed for the progress of the land and its people.

Earlier, Chief Akande had briefed the monarch on the efforts of the council and its plan to convince the state government to foot the bill of the petition of Ibadan before the census tribunal on the figures allocated to it by the National Population Commission (NPC).

He added that members of the CCII had been directed to make substantial contributions towards the new palace projects.

The meeting was attended by the Asiwaju of Ibadanland, Chief Bode Amao; Chief Theophilus Akinyele; Ambassador Sola Shaanu and Chief Amina Abiodun, the Iyalode of Ibadanland.
