Phil Neville will be unveiled as the new manager of England’s women on Monday but the new Lionesses boss showed who has caught his eye as he revealed his notes during the 0-0 draw between Reading and Arsenal on Sunday.

Roy Hodgson inadvertently showed his jottings to the media during a training session before the 2014 World Cup and Neville made a similar gaffe.

The 41-year-old left Adams Park 10 minutes from the end but had placed ticks next to the names of Arsenal’s Leah Williamson and Jordan Nobbs, along with Reading’s Fara Williams.

Having watched Liverpool win 2-0 at home to Bristol City on Saturday, photos showed his notes praising Reds forward Alex Greenwood as having a ‘good left foot’ with ‘good delivery’.

There were also ticks by the names of Greenwood’s Liverpool team-mates Siobhan Chamberlain and Laura Coombs.

The FA have been forced to deal with controversy since naming Neville as the new Lionesses manager. The former Manchester United and England defender was criticised last week after being accused of making sexist comments on Twitter in 2012.

Neville will be officially unveiled on Monday as the replacement for Mark Sampson, who was sacked after ‘inappropriate and unacceptable’ behaviour with female players in his time as Bristol Academy manager.
