The Kaduna State Local Government Service Commission hereby calls for applications from qualified candidates to fill the following vacant positions in the Unified Local Government Service of
Kaduna State.
1. (A) Principal Legal Officer. GL.12. (Legislative Arm).
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Drafting and Vetting of Executive/Legislative Bills.
•Drafting of Bills for the domestication of Local conventions and treaties to which the Local
Government is a party;
•Drafting of statutory instruments including Regulations, Order and Local Government
Notices;
•Processing and ensuring the publication of statutory instruments in the Bye-Laws/Gazettes.
•Rendering advice on Legislative Matter, Interpretation of statutes and any other matters assigned to the Legislature.
QUALIFICATIONS:
•LLB, BL Degree with not less than 5 years cognate working
experience.

1. (B) Principal Legal Officer GL.12 (Executive Arm)
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Rendering Legal Advice to the Local Government.
• Preparing Legal Documents relating to the Administration of the Local Government.
• Drafting and filing Legal documents in Courts.
• Drafting and Vetting Laws and Regulations.
• Appearing for the Local Government in matters of Civil Litigation in Courts.
• Prosecuting on behalf of the Local Governments in all criminal proceedings.
• Performing such other duties as may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
•LLB, BL Degree with not less than 5 years cognate working
experience.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assisting the Head of Legislative Services

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Preparing draft Committee reports.
• Assisting the Legal Officer in the preparation/processing of Legal documents.
• Performing such other related duties as may be assigned.
