firstly,
introduction: you are expected to appear before the parents of the lady either alone or in a company of friends/ family, review to them the purpose why you come.
secondly, you are expected to come with gifts for the lady, the likes of coconut, soaps, inner wears, jewels, rapper,etc.... note: it's not a must.
You are expected to collect tradition lists.
Thirdly, you must inform the family the actual day you would be coming with the items but it must not be on Ekeh market day. none of the visiting would fall on EKEH MARKET.
THE LIST:
umunna ( brothers of the bride)
umuada ( first daughters)
wunye-di ( father's wife's)
umuagbuo ( unmarried daughters)
The above groups have different demands which varies from time to time, depending the individual involved.
NOTE: You can pay with to some things but not all, reason: generally, they would want to see you twice/ thrice if you don't mind.

Note: The groups above will collect the items at your fixed traditional wedding day, you are at ease to run tradition/ church wedding the same day. if in any way you were unable to meet up with the items each group enlisted on the list, you as well expected to pay with cash on the wedding day.

MERCY
Depending how close you are to the in-law, you will still forgue ahead to your wedding but an agreement must be reached between the two parties....
