5 Signs that Your Daughter Will Lose Her Virginity This Valentine

Many countries, all over the world, celebrate every 14th of February as Valentine’s day otherwise known as lovers’ day.

The day is usually characterized by lots of parties, shows, lovers’ hangouts fun, giving gifts and initiating a new relationship.

One of the most pathetic features of ‘s celebration is the huge numbers of teenagers and youths that lose their virginity on that day.

The aim of this write-up is to sensitize parents on the trends that may make their treasure daughters lose her virginity.

These are:

1.If she has a date night: It is a common practice for two people in a relationship to have a date on valentine’s day regardless of age or distance. In fact, a guy may travel from the eastern part of Nigeria to see a girl in Lagos all in a bid to celebrate valentine together.

As a parent, you need to be observant to know the whereabout of your daughter on that day. Giving flimsy excuse about going to visit her uncle or Aunt in another location on that day should not be tolerated because she may want to use that as an escape route to see a lover.

2.If she wants to keep a promise: Many girls tend to lose their virginity on February 14th because they want to keep the promise they have made to their boyfriend that they will give-in to sex on that day. So, they go out ready for sexual act and this is happening as a result of peer pressure. Most times, a girl that wants to keep a promise to a guy will find a means of going out on that day even if there’s no need to.

3.If her mentor plans to take her out that night especially to a party: Another sign you should watch out for is the activity of the so-called mentor of your daughter especially her senior in school or a big sister in the neighborhood. Most times, it is these experienced mentors that expose the innocent girls into first time sex. Be vigilant! Never allow your precious daughter become an attachment to anyone going for a party under any guise.

4.If she plans a secret moves with her friends: As a mother, you need to be a detective at home to uncover any secret moves or outing of your children and their friends. Most especially, on a valentine’s day. They may want to deceive you that they are going for interschool debate, quiz, cultural or extra coaching but you need to be smarter than them. Or better still, ask their teacher or head of school if there is any extra class or interschool-debate.

5.If she is too excited about the day: Be very sensitive to know the state of your children. If you notice that your daughter is unusually excited for no reason, she must have received a special valentine gift from her boyfriend or she is going on a date with him. Don’t shout at her but talk to her with love explaining to her the danger in it and you will succeed in stopping her from being a victim.
