Have been natural for two years, my natural hair is lip length, tho am a lazy naturalista I try to moisturize my hair daily, African hair needs moisture to grow, I do my protein treatment, deep conditioner, tea rinse, okra treatment, pre poo and hot oil treatment whenever I feel like. Can't do without protective styling. Goodbye to relaxers. I love my natural hair. 1 Like |

LadySarah:you dont need any natural hair therapist.. Allow the perm to fall out itself or you trim it out... Get your favourite shampoo and conditional to wash by yourself, Buy a small bottle of coconut oil or Castro oil.. Then weave your hair into 3 or 4pieces at night and damp it with little waters and your favorite hair oil to to be softer when combing Thats all 1 Like |

lovelygurl: Wow! Beautiful hair you've got there. Was the pic taken after the big chop? I've been transitioning for almost a year now(I don't have the mind to chop off the hair) , my once shoulder length hair can barely reach my neck now . But I'm getting the hang of it now, breakages has reduced greatly and the hair is getting healthier 1 Like |

Ha! Natural hair should not be expensive to maintain at all!!! You know, I used to think being natural won’t be so pocket friendly. This is true only when you become a product junkie, buying every natural hair product you see. The thing about natural hair is that you can find most of the products needed to cater for it in your kitchen. You don’t have to buy expensive products when you can easily make yours at a very cheap rate. Let me just give you a simple breakdown Shampoo: You don’t have to buy Cantu or shea moisture. You can simply use Dudu Osun black soap, Rhassoul clay or make your own black soap. There’s this line of natural hair products called Hair Wonder that you should try. Absolutely cheap and very organic, no added chemicals, all natural products were used to make the products and it’s cheap! It’s even better than all these expensive hair shampoos if you ask me. Deep Conditioner: egg yolk, ripe avocado, banana, mayonnaise, honey, olive oil, coconut oil make excellent deep conditioners. There are various ways of combining these ingredients to give you an amazing deep conditioning experience with soft luscious hair. Leave in conditioner: shea butter. Flaxseed gel and so on make good leave ins. And you can make your own oils instead of breaking the bank to buy expensive cold pressed oils. I jut learnt how to make avocado oil and I can’t wait to try it out. Youtube is your best friend As for making your hair, I’d recommend long term protective hairstyles. Like loose braids, two strand twists, wigs and so on. Hairstyles that won’t require constant touching or maintenance for up to a month or more. So having healthy hair shouldn’t be expensive. It just depends on how creative and resourceful you are. And I won’t advice you to go to a regular salon to wash and treat your hair. You should be able to do that on your own. Or you could go to a salon that specializes in natural hair. shammahyaro: 5 Likes 1 Share |

lovelygurl: The relaxed ends are gradually breaking off. At this rate, I might not need to chop it off. I was using just coconut oil before, but it wasn't enough. Now I've learnt morning about prepoo, and moisturizing, also bought some products that strength natural hair. Really cool. |

lovelygurl:Imix it with with water or shea butter. You have to use small by it self and really spend time on every section working it in. It can dye your cloth too, be careful. Palm oil is in every high end cosmetic and hair product. This is where I got idea. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b2mREp_zzK8 |
