Dude is just destroying the ecosystem and the natural canopy that mother nature bequeathed us. I know of countries who will pay through their nose to have such greenery and thick vegetation mother nature blessed us with.

Except this job can be conveniently described as agriculture, it's a clear violation of the code of conduct for public servants, as contained in the code of conduct bureau and tribunal Act and the '99 constitution, which forbids a public servant from engaging in "any oda business, except agriculture".

Funny enough I tend to agree with you.
How did he get permit to engage in felling trees on a commercial scale?
-As a civil servant,is he allowed to own a company?
-Did he buy the large expanse of forest land?If so how did he accumulate such funds?Or is it an inheritance,if so where is the proof.
-How can he combine both jobs, which are full-time on their own?

When you cut down trees for profit without planting new ones you poison the land and your grand children.

He is one of the culprits that destroys Nigerian forests indiscriminately. No rules, they cut down all trees, even rubber trees for commercial timber.

The more you destroy the forest, the more dangerous your situation is. The only thing you use to have on your side is pristine nature, as soon as it is gone, you have nothing left and you will be catastrophically consumed by the forces of nature.Unlike whiteman that relies on technology to survive.

It's illegal for a civil servant to another source of income apart from his job

2ndly timber export is also illegal in Nigeria

So efcc should probe him

We are truly blessed with natural resources in Nigeria.

I hope he practices reforestation. If not he should be punished and made an example of.

All of a sudden, everyone just became environmental activists. We're too judgemental in this country. The houses under which you are living, were roofings done by using metals instead of woods? Has anyone of you confirmed or found out under which laws his licence was given?

Licence doesn't work. The forest guards work hand in hand with loggers to destroy the forest just for the pittance they get.

They don't think of the consequences because they don't have a clue. Even the environment minister that was recently appointed to United nations position was a party to the indiscriminate destruction.

He should be immediately be dismissed from service ..Nigerian Civil service and govt employees code forbids govt employees especially security operatives from engaging in other businesses aside from their govt jobs
the same code allow civil servant to do anything from agriculture, so no crime in it. He just need to replant young trees to avoid deforestation.
