I rmba wen I left JFK airport on my say to grey hound station ( ppl wey dey visit Yankee go know), I'd just come from the UK n I was so disappointed . the roads had super span but men....it felt like driving on third mainland as compared to UK's motorway and France. . then I realised the US just had better opportunities for immigrants. Europe is simply cleaner, mor sane.
Michigan has no public utilities. ...oh I forgot. Its 90% black.US is over hyped

NY has one of the worst roads in America. you'd find better roads if you go mid west... however I agree our roads are nothing compared to the ones in Europe. Trump even did say that our roads are like that of third world countries... one of the reasons he's administration is so concerned about rehabilitating our infrastructures...

I've read some of the comments, but what you guys fail to see is that in the U.S...you have a melting pot of people and socioeconomic factors (which may or may not be fair) that influence the standard of living in certain places.
Yes...the U.S. has several people who are homeless, those that live below the poverty line, those that live from "paycheck to paycheck" (which is most Americans), those that live a nice lifestyle, and those that live a wealthy and exorbitant one.
No person who is trying to represent himself in the best manner is gonna show himself as having flaws....
But it doesn't make the U.S. over-hyped....cause it still remains the country where if one works hard, then one can live a nice and decent life.
When you have a country that is deemed or was once deemed the "Superpower" of the world, one is bound to have the unfortunate disparities.
It's kinda like Jamaica and the Bahamas (the two most popular Caribbean vacation destinations for Americans).
What is shown or let's say marketed to the world is those gorgeous beaches ( crystal clear blue water, majestic palm trees, sandy white beaches etc.). But now, we know that Jamaica has a lot of poverty stricken areas for an island of 2 million (which get shielded until one gets there). But it doesn't negate the fact that that's one tremendously beautiful island.
However, it's unfortunate....cause there are many factors at play regarding the socioeconomic status.
I look at the U.S. as similar...just that it's a million times bigger.
