You see Jesus was talking in respect to John's inquisition of His personality. Around that time John has been in the prison and hoping that christ will come to his aid and set him free, he didn't know that the prison is also his cross to carry through which he will depart and glorify God in his death so he was confuse and begin to doubt christ the messiah, "if he is the messiah why can't he come and deliver me from this prison" John must have say in his heart and get offended forgetting that he baptized Him and saw the full evidence of His Lordship.
So many people have been in this situation before, some have even cursed out and departed from the faith, some think it's the end of the world and have committed suicide, some have decided to seek help from Egypt. Don't let the devil shake you off your faith because of that little trouble you are facing, like the scripture says for our little affliction which is but for a moment works for us a more exceeding and eternal weight of glory,2cor 4:17, brace up yourself today, Victory is yours for we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. Today you shall rise above the swirling waves of your troubles, you are lifted into greatness, in the name of Jesus, Amen. Rejoice and give thanks
