The 30th convocation ceremony of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri  (FUTO) has been undergoing postponement for a while now. The ceremony which was formerly scheduled to hold on the 27th February, 2018, following the release of the school's academic calender, did not meet the stipulated date.

The convocation ceremony was postponed to 10th March, 2018. This is as a result of the Non Academic Staff UNION (NASU) strike action which lasted from 14th November 2017 - 7th March, 2018 (suspension date). However, Mrs. J.N. Ikeme, the secretary, ceremonial committee in a memo published on 6th March, 2018 to all Heads Of Departments (HODs) said that the convocation ceremony has been rescheduled.

The 30th Convocation ceremony of the university scheduled for Saturday March 10, 2018 has been rescheduled for Saturday, April 7, 2018 at the Convocation Arena.


Important Notice
Academic gowns will be issued only on presentation of payment invoice of =N=7,000 for first degree, =N=10,000 for postgraduate diploma and =N=15,000 for M.Sc/Ph.D. from any bank.

Go to www.remita.net
Go to pay Federal Government Agencies
Go to Federal University of Technology, Owerri
Click Brochure and Convocation fees to obtain an RRR (Remita Retrieval Reference) code
with your RRR code, pay at any Bank and obtain an invoice.
Proceed with your invoice to your department from April 4th, 2018 for collection of your gown. The HOD's or their representatives will collect gowns from SOSC building from Wednesday, 4th April, 2018.

NOTE
All gowns are to returned not later than Monday, April 9, 2018. Failure to do so will attract some disciplinary measure. The department will however be held responsible for missing academic gowns.
