If asked what we see in agriculture, i guess 90% will say its a useless course since our grandmothers can farm an teach us and its a very dirty occupation. But that is not what agriculture is known for.

1.Do u know agric provides the 3 basic needs of man which are food, shelter and clothing?
2.Do u know some of the most powerful politician has farms? i.e obasanjo integrated farm, senate farm, even the president has herds of cattle
3.Whenever a multinational company is to be build, they first look for a soil scientist, if he said no, they cant build it?
4.Do u know the water from the stream comes from forest, that is why streams are always located near forests
5.If a medical doctor makes mistake, the sick will die, if an engineer make mistake, hundreds of people will die but a farmer is not expected to make mistake cos everyone depends on him.
6.Do u know you can live without a Doctor, a lawyer, an engineer, a pastor, but you cant survive without a farmer?
7.Do you know if every business crashes, the agric business cannot crash cos we all need them.
8Do you know we have bio-diesel, bio-fuel and bio-gas can can substitute oil and the advantage is it never runs dry cos they arr made from animal dungs.
9. without agro allied industry, your car cannot run, ur generator will be of no use, infact every other industry needs agro-allied industry.
10.The richest african is a farmer and an industrialist.
11.A commercial farmer is richer than a medical doctor.
12. It is easy to find an engineer an accountant, a bio-chemist etc looking for job, but how many agriculturists do you find looking for Job
13.When Nigerian economy nosedived, the fed govt said they want to diversity the economy, but that was not true, they were running back to agriculture.
14.The most beautiful ornamental products are agricultural products.
15.The most satisfying fence is a livefence? no thief will dare approach a life fence, they have thongs and also beautify your gates.
16.The first occupation given to man was to take care of plants and animal.
17.There is no waste in agriculture, even the dungs, the blood of animals, the feathers are useful in the agro-allied industry.

so when next we see an agriculturist, we should differentiatd them from our grandmothers in the village, comparing them is like comparing a banker and someone that saves with saving box
