NIGERIA’S DEBT RISES BY N9.61TN UNDER BUHARI
Under President Muhammadu Buhari, Nigeria has grown its debt portfolio by N9.61tn, statistics available from the Debt Management Office (DMO) have shown.
According to the DMO, Nigeria’s debt stood at N21.73tn as of December 31, 2017, while the figure as of June 30, 2015, was N12.12tn.

COURT SENTENCES THREE ARMED ROBBERS, RAPISTS TO DEATH BY HANGING IN OGUN
Three armed robbery, conspiracy and rape convicts have been sentenced to death by an Abeokuta High Court, Ogun state on Thursday.
Justice Olatokunbo Majekodumi sentenced Abdulrasak Moshood, Sakiru Osunmuyiwa and Azeez Olonade.
The fourth accused, Oguntolu Oludare got 10 years imprisonment for receiving stolen goods.

ANTI-GRAZING LAW: BENUE GOVT AUCTIONS CONFISCATED COWS
The Benue Government on Thursday directed its Ministry of Finance to appoint a registered Auctioneer to auction cattle confiscated in violation of the state Anti-Open Grazing Law 2017.
Briefing newsmen after the state’s Executive Council meeting in Makurdi, the Commissioner for Information, Mr Lawrence Onoja, disclosed that the government also gave the livestock owners up to March 19 to pay stipulated fines to the state Ministry of Agriculture to claim their animals.

REVENGE: RUSSIA EXPELS BRITISH DIPLOMATS
Following the confirmation that 23 Russian envoys would leave Britain in a week, Russia is set to expel British diplomats “soon”.
Russia’s foreign minister, Sergei Lavrov told Russian media the expulsions would “definitely” happen.
