With the effort towards building a sustainable Northern-Nigerian tech ecosystem and unlocking opportunities for startups to benefit, Startup Arewa has announced a strategic partnership with Favcode54.

Favcode54 is a US based NGO with a goal of Empowering Africa through technology.

The duo will leverage the partnership to train 5000 passionate people who wish to go into software development and programming.

Announcing the plan in a statement by the Founder and President at Startup Arewa, Mohammed Jega, said the program is open to all aspiring programmers and software developers, “here’s an opportunity you shouldn’t let pass you by”.

“The opportunity is open to anyone who currently resides in Northern Nigeria and most importantly, people that have a strong passion to change Africa through technology.

“Learners will be taught by a team of world class mentors who will properly guide them through their chosen career path in software development.

“Our mentors are great developers with lots of industry experience as some of them are currently working with companies like Facebook, Google, IBM, Twitter, snap chat and more.
