Please, if you don't mind my asking. Have you tried updating the firmware and/or dashboard of an MTN Huawei E3531 modem using a non-MTN NG update?

I've downloaded the MTN SA update for the modem in the hope that it will give the modem the ability to choose between 3G only and 2G only (like my GLO E8231 did after an update). I'm yet to update the E3531 because of a bad experience I had when I updated my MTN E173 modem with a non-MTN NG update coupled with the fact that there is no rollback.

yea..got it. I haven't tried it, apart from not rolling back, you could have problem of no signal too
