Chibok Forgone : A Poem by Nobody: 1:56pm On Mar 29, 2018
276 SCHOOLGIRLS WERE ABDUCTED ON APRIL 14, 2014.

57 ESCAPED, 4 FOUND, 106 RELEASED, 4 INFANTS WITH OUR GIRLS, 19 PARENTS DEAD, 113 STILL MISSING!

CHIBOK FORGONE : A POEM

Here lay the bones of our girls,
Of mangled limbs torn in pairs,
Scattered into bits by strapped bombs,
Forced on them by the frail thumbs,
Of a coward sect with much wahala,
Leaving trails of tears on the dusty Sahara.

Only but a few made it home alive,
White eyes where turned to red hive,
They were stolen as girls with innocence,
But returned as mothers without pretence,
Carrying the foetus of their abductors,
Who had abused their role as protectors.

Years in the sambisa became a nightmare,
The bats and the baobab cast a stare,
Merrier than the men in guns and knives,
Who had possession of their legs and lives,
And lordship of a kingdom without border,
Where no soldier dare to wander.

But where was Abuja who played the fiddle,
Whose wails Chibok wrappers failed to ruffle,
Who was slow to send choppers to the rescue,
To bring back our girls and force a battle,
With villains who sought to terrorize,
And carve a country to which to fraternize.

Listen, you helpless youths of a sorry nation,
You tear the fabrics that unites your region,
Discriminating between a kaffir and mumin,
Persecuting the cross, yet desecrating the quran,
You've soiled the legacies of Ahmad Bello
To kill the citadel and let ignorance wallow.

You've open your arms to mercenaries,
Inviting rains of bombs to your communities,
Now, you've made your homes desolate,
Your fathers have become prostrate,
The cause you swore to fight without wages,
Has turned your mothers into IDP refugees.

But how much lives would you make homeless,
How many scarfs would you make headless,
Brainwashing our sons into your fold,
Defilling our daughters, yet grip a hold,
We've cried out our nostrils out in pain,
Not knowing if we may see our girls again.
