i am a football lover and i have always asked for the reason footballers walk alongside kids to the line up during a football match.

i have also gotten answers ranging from the procedure being a FIFA culture to it being a fair play approach.

i still think there is more to it than the above. please football lovers lets give reason to this very popular but yet unexplained modus aparandi that governs the very sport that has united millions of people world over.

The agreement was between UNICEF and FIFA. The campaign was meant to improve and protect children’s lives around the world and show that football is making a difference for children. The most visible way the campaign was promoted was by having children “lead the players on to the field wearing FIFA/UNICEF "Say Yes" T-shirts” before every World Cup match in 2002.

I don't think there's really anything attached to it. its just ceremonial. Same way the players wear Track suit tops in the pitch before the game starts.

It started from teams using children from their kid teams to welcome a visiting teams , it was used show off the kid teams and also motivate other kids to take up soccer playing , overtime it became a norm then a culture that know one really knows the reason again .

It is a way of catching them young.. And this is one reason football is loved All over the world. It goes to show that football is both for the young and the old.

Primarily to show those children love and care, some of them health or social issues.
