53 Candidates Sit For Nigerian Common Entrance In Cotonou
The National Examination Council has said out of the 79,987 candidates that sat for the 2018 Common Entrance Examination on Saturday, April 14, 2018, about 53 of them wrote the exam in Benin Republic.
Mrs. Augsta Igbokwe who is a board member of the council made this known to newsmen after the exam on Saturday.

2018 Utme: Jamb Speaks On Cut Off Mark Controversy
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has distanced itself from a purported cut-off mark being circulated in some sections of the media, saying it did not emanate from the board.
The board’s Head of Media and Information Department, Dr Fabian Benjamin said no such cut-off mark, whether for programmes or institutions had been released by JAMB as was being speculated.

Activist Hails Fg Over Commencement Of Maritime Varsity
Sheriff Mulade has applauded the Federal Government for the successful take-off of the Maritime University of Nigeria (MUN), Okerenkoko, Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West Local Government Area, Delta State.
In a statement made available to newsmen at the weekend in Warri, the Niger Delta environmentalist expressed gratitude to the Federal Government for the smooth take-off.

Unical Matriculates 9,200 Students
The University of Calabar has matriculated 9, 200 new students for the 2017/2018 academic year with the Faculty of Education recording the highest with 2,226 students, seconded by the Faculty of Social Sciences with 1,125. Faculty of Pharmacy admitted only 45 students, being the least in the admission record.
The Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof Zana Akpagu, made this known yesterday during the matriculation ceremony which took place at the Abraham Ordia stadium, Unical.

Oau Sex Scandal: Accused Professor Goes Into Hiding
The lecturer at the centre of the sex-for-mark saga at the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) has reportedly gone into hiding and deleted his Facebook account.
Professor Richard Akindele, a lecturer at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, who was allegedly heard in an audio recording which has now gone viral demanding for sex to pass a female student who scored 33 in his course.
