Good after to everyone in here, this is to bring to our notice that, a small group of young minds is willing to contribute its own quota, in rewarding youths (students/undergraduates/corpers) with just a small token, which starts with just #10,000 (Ten thousand naira only) and may increase afterwards (either through support gotten from the society or what we know not for now).

The name of this group is TECHIES, which was started in the Federal University of Technology, Akure in the year 2017. The aim of this group is simply to use technology in helping to develop the community in all scope of life. We are not just after building a huge product which will solve human wants, we are simply after reaching out to the world...in helping those who are really not privileged to getting the best out of life, right from their childhood.

We believe in Charlie Chaplain words that says Greed has poisoned men’s souls, has barricaded the world with hate, has goose-stepped us into misery and bloodshed. We have developed speed, but we have shut ourselves in. Machinery that gives abundance has left us in want. Our knowledge has made us cynical. Our cleverness, hard and unkind. We think too much and feel too little. More than machinery we need humanity. More than cleverness we need kindness and gentleness. Without these qualities, life will be violent and all will be lost…. .

You may begin to ask what the criteria for selection will be, but I am happy to inform us that...it will be an open system, whereby everyone sees what's really going on (Nothing will be hidden).

Before you can actually benefit from this:

1. You must have (in your own little way) contributed positively to your community, by stating what you actually did and how it was done with clear evidence.

2. Knowing fully well that you are truly in need of it (while we support you to reaching more).

3. [s]We don't know the number for now, but it will be communicated with us later.[/s]

The amount may look too small for now, but it promises to increase as time goes on. (We are only trying to give back to the community in our own little way, as we grow bigger and better.

We believe the change actually begins with us...

TECHIES

TECHIES is actually a body that provides solutions with the aid of technology, in helping to meet peoples wants/needs. It is believed that technology is yet to be in its right position in this part of the world, although we all believe we are getting there little by little.

It quite saddens, seeing our young ones, who are so interested in this field to the point of having to get themselves enrolled in a citadel of learning, just to help in getting their mindset watered in bringing about a lot of innovations/invention to help hasten the growth of our community/nation, but reverse is actually the case, whereby ideas are actually being discouraged, to the point of students getting distracted and left with no other option than to just get disappointed in what they actually once believed in, while they allow the tide of life take them to where they really do not want.

VISION
The VISION and MISSION of TECHIES is to provide a forum which isn't just concerned about the development of TECHNOLOGY but helps in reaching to all humans (both the privileged and the otherwise).

The main aim is to help our young minds have all that is needed in getting that their idea out (Physical building or any help that will help them get better, cos we believe the youths/young minds are actually the strength of a nation), and a mind not given the right resources or really not in the right environment wouldn't help take the nation to where it ought to be...but, with TECHIESNGO, that can always be achieved.

We actually decided to start in this little way, at least...a drip can actually make a sea or even ocean. We have actually visited several Correction homes, Orphanage homes, and abodes where people are kept without their own consent...in just helping humanity achieve its main purpose hidden in the supposed civilization. Since it is believed that, most people are even outside of these homes, but are really not getting the best of life, that is the reason we created what was seen on Nairaland, just to extend the purpose of TECHIESNGO.

So, today has finally come, and we the TECHIES are as well taking the proper steps to making this happen, as we contribute our little quota to developing our community.

Yes, one of the major goals is to make Nigeria great...but at least, a thousand steps begin with one....with the help of everyone in here working together with TECHIES, this can be achieved within the shortest period of time.

The major goal of this idea is to help/assist those who have been helping their community in one way or the other, or those who did like to ...but not with the adequate resources, although we are starting with a small token, as we grow bigger and better.

Thanks to everyone in here for these, as we take the next step to achieving this goal.

so, for this month, we got just two entries, and before the night hour...one of them will be choosen...based on the things made available by them, and after one person has been selected...then, we can make known what the person has been able to do and what he/she intends doing as well.

Note: this is nothing like competition at all, we are just a growing group....so, we wouldn't want anybody to see this as something of personal interest, but an opportunity to be of help to the society.
