Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Response Team (DSVRT) is a collection of professional service providers and officials that respond as a group and in a timely fashion to the various needs of domestic and sexual violence survivors by providing legal, medical, emergency assistance, Counselling and psychological and psycho social support.

It is to encourage and create unprecedented level of collaboration among professionals working to end sexual and Gender Based Violence.

Domestic and Sexual Violence Response Team (DSVRT) is an organisation under Lagos state Government committed to ensuring total eradication of Sexual and Gender Based Violence in the State. Our mission is to provide sensitive services to victims of domestic and sexual violence while promoting healthy relationships as we strive to enhance our coordinated community response to domestic and sexual violence in Lagos State and indeed in Nigeria.






Mandate Of The Lagos DSVRT
Utilizing a team model that includes all the relevant agencies, the Team provides timely follow up services in select domestic sexual violence cases where high risk factors are present or in cases where there is an elevated level of risk to victims, and/or children accompanied by a need for intensive victim support.

Vision
The Domestic and Sexual Violence Response Team coordinates with agencies to overcome negative societal norms, gender inequalities and systemic oppression to victims of domestic and sexual violence through providing quality services and enriched programming.

Mission
To provide sensitive services; to victims of domestic and sexual violence; while promoting healthy relationships as we strive to enhance our coordinated community response to domestic and sexual violence in Lagos State and indeed in Nigeria.

The Lagos DSVRT Team Leads

Mr Adeniji Kazeem
He is the current Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Lagos State. Mr Kazeem is a graduate of Political Science and Law from the University of Lagos. He also has a Masters Degree in Information Technology and Telecommunications Law from the University of Strathclyde.





Mr. Adeniji Kazeem is passionate about technology and the important role IT plays in the fight against Sexual and Gender Based Violence crimes. He is the Chairman of DSVRT.



Mrs. Clara Omotilewa Ibirogba
She graduated from the University of Lagos in 1980. She was called to bar in 1981 and started work at the Ministry of Justice, in 1983. She was a one time Director of the Department of Legislative Drafting. She also worked in the Directorate for Public Prosecutions. Presently she is the Director of the Directorate for Citizens’ Rights, where she has been since 2006.

She has also held a few ad- hoc positions such as the Legal Adviser for Health Facilities Monitoring and Accreditation Agency (HEFAMAA). Mrs. Ibirogba is a full member of the Institute for Chartered Mediators’ and Conciliators.
She serves as Alternate Chairman of DSVRT.

Mrs Itoro Eze-Anaba
She is the Managing Partner of Partnership for Justice, a non profit organization of professionals that share a commitment to equality, justice and globalization of human rights standards. She is the founder of the Mirabel Centre, a sexual assault referral centre that provides free counseling and medical services to survivors of rape and sexual assault. Itoro holds an LL.B from University of Calabar and an LLB from American University Washington College of Law, specializing in Gender and the Law.

Lagos residents have once again been warned that the state will not tolerate any form of sexual and domestic violence, as all agencies of government are committed to ensuring that the menace disappears from the society.


I'm really impressed with what Lagos is doing, and hope other states emulate. The incidences of rape have been very alarming particularly in India and Nigeria.
