The colloquium had a great deal of presence of many notable architects, various professionals within and outside the building construction industry and students of architecture.
From the astounding presentation of the topic; “ATEMPORALITY AND ATONALITY OF CONTEMPORARY ARCHITECTURE AND IMPLICATIONS FOR NIGERIA” by prof. W.B. Qurix fnia where he explored various architectural styles as well as proponents of such styles.



To the inspiring presentation on “ANALYSIS OF THE BUSINESS SUCCESS FACTORS IN SETTING UP AND MANAGING AN ARCHITECTECTURAL PRACTICE IN NIGERIA” by ARC. UMARU U. KARAYE and lecture “ADDING VALUES TO INFRASTRUCTURE” by KANSAI PLASCOM as well as “ENERGY EFFICIENCY IN BUILDINGS” by DR. LOUIS GYOH.



The notable presentations by Autodesk which aimed at enlightening architects and student of architecture on BIM( building information modeling) and its various tools, processes etc. including case studies of buildings which BIM helped improve efficiency, reduce errors, and streamline collaborations in construction. Notable example of such building mentioned is “THE 121-STOREY SHANGHAI TOWER”.

ALKETECTURE.COM team was opportuned to share ALKETECTURE with NAAS (National Association of Architecture Students) during the special NAAS meeting at the shehu musa yar’adua center, Abuja. At the meeting, the NAAS president, comrade Alabi Babatunde Feranmi announced the existence of the official NAAS website naasnigeria. He implores all student of architecture to use it, contribute to it and enjoy it.



He announced that as at the day of the meeting at SHEHU MUSA YAR’ADUA center- 25th, Wednesday, about 150 student of architecture had completed their registration to become a registered student architect.
The NAAS president also mentioned that the issue of disparity in the name of the different chapters of the association e.g. some chapters use “student association” while some uses “student society” would be put under proper scrutiny.
He also mentioned that the issue of architecture graduate made to teach in schools during NYSC one year pupilage has been dissolved without compromise and architecture graduate would now serve at REGISTERED ARCHITECTURAL FIRMS.
The NAAS president preached for unity and cooperation amongst all chapters of the student association to ensure effective participation and smooth running of the association.
