Regardless of who had called in, hoax or real, distressed or not, the ethics of customers service relationship is "Always speak softly while you try to give solutions to a customer, especially an irate one."
Try to bring them down


My experience is not far fetched as our country too has harboured too many unregulated calls that are hoax.

Customer care /service agents too are human anyways.
