Who wore it better? That’s a question that permeates fashion circles everywhere, and it’s easy to see why. When considering variables like a person’s hair color and body type in your fashion assessments, the same outfit can look wildly different on two separate people.

Still, few would expect anyone to lose one of these competitions to an inanimate object. Yet, when pitting these folks’ outfits against some of the world’s most stylish objects, it can be nearly impossible to determine who won the fashion battle.

1. A fluorescent marker or a teacher? There’s no doubt that this is a stiff competition, but you have to hand it to the marker: its diaphanous pink tip adds a certain pop to the outfit that the teacher’s sorely lacking. Sorry, Prof.

2. This woman or Homer Simpson? Of course, The Simpsons patriarch himself pulls off the sour-Homer face with just a touch more authenticity, but the woman brings an undeniable grace to the expression. Extra points for striking the pose in the middle of the grocery store.




3. Heidi Klum or a car wash brush? To answer this one, you must ask yourself whether you prefer the beauty and grace of a world-renowned supermodel or the utilitarian ease of a car wash. Only you know the true answer.

4. This elderly lady or the patterned carpet? Hopefully this isn’t one of those I’ve fallen and I can’t get up moments. Either way, the woman earns a few extra points for her fantastic camouflage capabilities.




5. Justin Bieber or this baby? There are a handful of excuses the baby could supply to explain her sagging diaper—but Bieber’s can only be credited to high fashion. Or would it be low fashion at this point?

6. Lil Wayne or E.T.? Both candidates have even mastered the “addled stare toward something in the distance” look, further complicating the decision here. Lil Wayne’s outfit might take the edge thanks to arm mobility, however.




7. Ivanka Trump or a foil-wrapped burrito? There are a lot of factors at play in this one, but it’s hard to place anyone or anything above a burrito. The answer to this question directly correlates with your love for tortilla-wrapped meat. Okay, the burrito wins.

8. Lady Gaga or this patio heater? Lady Gaga made a career out of zany, eye-popping outfits, but you could say the patio heater was truly born this way. For this content, you’ll have to consider originality—who wore it first?




9. Kim Kardashian or Danny DeVito’s Penguin? This is perhaps the toughest one. While Danny DeVito really nails the man-in-a-burlap-sack look, he’s definitely stacked up against stiff competition.

10. These shopping bags or this guy in a plaid shirt? Again, this is another “Who Wore It Better?” that relies heavily on obscured information. What’s in the shopping bags? How would the center bag look if you threw horizontal stripes into the mix?




11. This woman or the walls in this hotel corridor? Something about hotel décor really speaks to and inspires dress designers, apparently. The woman, however, shows just a touch more confidence in herself—she knows she wore it better.

12. This dude’s socks or the airport carpet? Nothing says “high fashion” quite like an airport carpet, and that’s what makes this a tricky contest. The slightly brighter blue on the socks adds an interesting edge to this one.




13. Kim Kardashian or a sack of onions? On any other day, this sack of onions would bring enough curves to the table to make any grocery shopper to do a double take. Unfortunately, when put head-to-head against Kim K., the onions’ power is negated.

14. A young Justin Timberlake or a brick of top ramen? No one rocks the bleach blond tips quite like the boy-band megastar, but the ramen does break down and soften in boiling water. That has to count for something, right?




15. Justin Bieber or a panini? This is Bieber’s second appearance on the list, but it’s the first shot at the fashion prize for this well-grilled panini. With evenly spaced lines of tasty char, it’s tough to top a sandwich like this.




Who said high fashion was left to the stars? With inanimate objects like a patio heater and a fluorescent marker making their way into the ever-changing world of style, there’s hope for everyone to be on the front lines!
