Many years ago while in the university, my GNS lecturer shared this story in one of our classes, its about a professor who went to a village to carry out a research.

To get to the village he was going to, he needed to cross a river, so he got into a boat along with two canoe men and they started the journey. On their way going, the professor asked the two men, 'young men do you know anything about sociology'? The two men looked into each others eyes, shook their head and said no.

The professor answered, its is a pity, 10% of your life is gone. The professor asked again, do you know any thing about psychology? The men answered and said no, the professor replied, what is it that you know? Another 10% of your life is wasted!

After sometime as they got to the middle of the river, there was a storm and the boat was about to capsize. The two men looked up to the professor and asked him, sir, do you know anything about swimmiology? The professor answered them and said no, the two of them laughed and said sir, we are sorry for you but 100% of your life is wasted and your whole life is gone!

The moral lesson that stayed with me for over a decade with this story is this:
Life is about interdependency, we need one another to survive.

Every man and knowledge is valuable.
Never look down or talk down any one.
