Funny, bold, witty, entertaining, serious, intellectually captivating writers wanted for an online news/magazine website geared towards Africans to debut in two weeks. Link to the website will be given upon request to writers who are interested as the site has not yet been officially launched, pending an official editorial staff. The website will cover entrainment, sports, politics, news etc and be host to several opinionated bloggers.

-Looking for a team of African reporters and writers at home and abroad who are ready and willing to represent Africa through their own lens. Positions are open to writers from any country who are interested in Africa

-Writers should be able to start in the next two weeks,so as to get acquainted with site features before the world cup.

-The following positions are open
Editor-in-Chief:

Overseer of editorial opinion
Posts responses to editorial opinion
Sets deadline for news articles
Sees to it that articles are within responsible journalistic standards
Writes or assigns editorials
Lays out editorial page each issue
Verifies that all approved stories run in each issue
Monitors “ Intellectual” column
News Editor:

Helps associate writers in the news section if they need assistance
Edit stories in assigned section
Lays out stories in the news section
Makes sure major breaking news on the continent is available on the website.
Makes sure, if article is obtained from another site, it has been properly sited
Sees to it that articles are within responsible journalistic standards

Opinion Editor:

Help writers in the opinion section if they need assistance
Take a picture of each student in the class for layout of opinion section
Edit stories in assigned section
Lays out stories in the opinion section
At least one (1) year of layout experience required from yearbook or newspaper.


Sports Editor:

Help writers in the sports section if they need assistance
Edit stories in assigned section
Makes sure externally obtained sports news is properly sited
In charge of setting up feature interviews in sports column
Conducting sports interviews or assigning interviews to be conducted


Entertainment Editor:

Help writers in the entertainment section if they need assistance
Edit stories in assigned section
Make sure that the site is up to date with the latest entertainment news in Africa and abroad.
Set up interviews and assign reporter to conduct or conduct interviews themselves
Makes sure articles are properly layed out: that is, pictures, videos, paragraphs are properly aligned and show up in the feed.
Conduct book reviews, music review, etc
Select unique artist for the spotlight column


Lifestyle:

Help associate writers in the Lifestyle section if they need assistance
Edit stories in assigned section
Set up interviews and assign reporter to conduct or conduct interviews themselves
Makes sure articles are properly layed out: that is, pictures, videos, paragraphs are properly aligned and show up in the feed.
Make sure articles are updated properly cited if non original
Make sure articles are fun and draw interaction from viewers
Make sure questions are answered in the “Dear Big Mama” section




World Cup Team:

Chief Editor

-Update website with majore developments as they unfold.

-Post video highlights of maches

-Write Pre and post Match reviews

-Update website with publc opinions (most preferably street videos)

-Track update Match statistics

-Conduct Interviews

-Help other reporters when need
