It is dying, so new languages have modern features and can do a lot , besides the concept of using not having a compiled version running in the memory and tunning seems outdated already. Plus it takes less to get a Spring boot application up with adequate tooling than PHP now. Though in some EU countries and third world countries PHP still reigns

PHP is not dying because of the few reasons:

It’s the most popular server-side language.

It’s the most popular choice for beginners in back-end development because of it’s ease of us and availability of tutorials.

WordPress, is written in it that over 60% of websites today run on which must undergo maintaince overtime

Languages don’t die just. there’s a need to maintain codebases in all languages, COBOL is made more than 60 years ago and there is still a lot of code out there which has to be maintained, especially in banking sector.

The problem with we programmers is that we get too fixated on the purity of a language or overwhelmed with the desire to try out the latest framework rather than the outcome.

The last time I heard, PHP powers 80% of websites online. So we should expect 80% of those websites to die with PHP Or better still rewritten <Gbese>
