I hope it was the Fasting... From wat am watching now, from the 1st Minute, Iwobi was the one falling back to play 2
it was obvious. Usually, he'd go front to assist the attack, but he didn't do that yesterday .

Walahi if these 2 players make the final team I'll then know that Gernot Rohr lacks proper ability to judge talent. Onazi should go home from london, shehu should escort them to airport and see them off as they board the plane to russia.
I'm sure both will make the squad. Synagogue or TB Joshua don de pray for Onazi since that lacklustre performance yesterday and shehu records so far in the eagle would speak for him. grin

You obviously lack more than just comprehension. What players do u have in super eagle's team disciplined enough to play back 3 system with? You played it against a weak legged Argentinean side and you got exposed till the formation got reverted to 4 at d back. I need not discuss football with your likes. Just play back 3 in world cup and we'll see who the charlatans are. I doubt you know Ogu to have suggested he should be played in a back 3 formation. If only England had punished you, jst maybe your eyes might have opened. Why not pla y mikel at the back in a back 3 system?

Oh wow! You didn't tell us you had a Grade 'A' FIFA coaching license. I'm guessing you're the one who will decide for Gernot Rohr what formation to play since you're the teams official trainer.

And again, it's still shocking that your level of comprehension is this poor. Did I suggest using Ogu in a back 3 or did I point out what the coach did in a match we all saw (maybe you didn't). There's a difference between reporting what happened and making a suggestion. Comprendé?

It might be better if you stick to the auto and religious section where you might actually know what you are saying. "I need not discuss football with your likes". Please, who are you, Pep Guardiola? Go take a back seat with your overbloated ego son.

P.S: For someone whose profile is filled with religious comments, you shouldn't be the one throwing first insults at people who give their own opinion on social media. Not exactly a good calling card for your religiosity.

I'm done. *drops mic*

No

If Nigeria beats Croatia and Iceland- 6 pts
Argentina beats Nigeria and Iceland- 6 pts
Croatia beats Argentina and Iceland- 6 pts
Iceland loses all 3 games- 0 pts

All the top 3 teams beats Iceland and one other top 3 team each. So they all won 2 and each lost one to another top 3 team while Iceland loses all 3.

This scenario has occured countless times in competitions and the top two teams are then decided in the order of: goal difference, disciplinary records and, in rare cases, a straight PK shootout or coin toss.

If Genort Rohr is truly sincere. He would go with my first 11 as shown below.

Ikechukwu Ezenwa

Tyronne Ebuehi Troost Ekong Leon Balogun Bryan Idowu

Victor Moses Wilfred Ndidi Oghenekaro Etebo Alex Iwobi

Odion Ighalo Kelechi Iheanacho

You can't leave out your best midfielder and your best player......Without Mikel in that midfield, we can't hold it against any top team.....He is our most experienced players who has played in the highest level more than any player in that team. You can see his runs and passes yesterday.

Lolz, happy Sunday o mr Ogu. It might interest you to know that not only do I have a football academy, I also run a sport management agency including football management and player management with VERIFIABLE track record of player's transfers locally and internationally. I wasn't insulting you when I gave u the charlatans title and that i'd rather not discuss football with you (not because u don't watch football or have something to say but u don't know these players to see how undisciplined and rigid they are when it comes to tactical flexibility) I'm sorry if u felt insulted, i'm truly sorry. But playing a back 3 with these flat and heavy footed nigerian players is an accident waiting to happen. Let's continue the day we play back 3 system without being punished by a decent team. Thanks for your time.

He and Onazi caused the second goal

I disagree about Mikel. He was influential in the game. His experience worked out on second half..

We should rather focus on how to make the midfield solid cos to me, Onazi and Joel Obi are minus 4

Apology accepted. It's fine if we have different opinions on an issue. You can express yours without making remarks to belittle others. We would have simply had a mature discussion about the coaches decision to try a back 3 and weigh the pros and cons. Your involvement in sports management doesn't automatically give you superior knowledge. This is a game I've been following religiously for more than 30 years.

I'm not a fan of John Ogu and I could care less if he was dropped from the final list. I only stated what I observed and its import on the game. Mind you, it had been reported even before the friendly against DR Congo that the coach had tried out Ogu a few times in defence in training. So maybe he has seen something we haven't.

Whether a back 3 will work for the Eagles or not is at the moment a matter of conjecture. Even Conte that won the EPL last season using a back 3 finished 5th this season. That's to show you that it takes more than the formation you play to win games. The players must bring their A-game.

I wish the Eagles all the best, and I wish you a lovely week.

SirShymexx:
Not a bad team, they just need more pace and decisiveness in the midfield and attack (a bit of creativity as well). And the defence needs to work on defending setpieces.

They played well in the 2nd half and if Mikel had been 7-10 years younger, the outcome would have been different. Great game and even greater atmosphere.

Look at the sea of people

The most important thing is team balance. We may need more fullbacks than what is available.
