A job interview is an interview consisting of a conversation between a job applicant and representatives of an employer which is conducted to assess whether the applicant should be hired. Which means, if you miss it at this point, all your efforts to get the job are gone, so why don't you make sure you're well prepared.

From experience whilst recruiting for firms, below are some mistakes we noticed jobs applicants make before the job interview.

Mistake #1: Not Knowing the employer
Most job applicants make this mistake, they appear in front of the employer representatives with little or no information of the employer. It is very important for job applicants to study the employer's profile. They should know about them, the services they offer, their products, contact address (and even branch location if any - as they might ask you questions related to that. E.g; If you are given this Job, would you relocate to our Branch office, actually, our manufacturing site at Atan? If you've not done your assignment well, you might/will lose some points here).

Job Applicants are advised to know 89% percent of the employer, likewise, their competitors and all of these and more can be done using the Google search tool.

Mistake #2: Not Looking-up Your Interviewers
Thank God for LinkedIn, I hear some readers saying after reading the number 2 caption. This shouldn't even happen if you know who you'll be meeting with. With a tool like LnkedIn, you should be able to look them up and their professional background. Look at their current positions in the company and their experiences as all of these will help you position yourself, make you a bit relaxed and ask insightful questions.

Mistake #3: Not Getting Used to Some Common Asked Interview Questions
We have seen some job applicants feel pressured to think of the answers to some commonly asked interview questions. For example; What are your Strengths? What are your weaknesses? What can you offer us that someone else cannot? Where do you see yourself in three years?

Mistake #4: Not Dressing Good
It's no news that your wardrobe says a lot about you. And let's not forget the popular saying; The way you dress is how people will address you.
We have seen job applicants lose job offers due to their bad outfits, and particularly because he wore a scratched pant. Such things should never be ignored, not at all.

It is highly advised that job applicants put up a good outfit with no form of scratches, as a bad dressing when noticed by the employer representatives can affect your attitude and confidence.

Mistake #5: Not Knowing the Worth of the Job
It is expected that you know how much the job is worth before the interview and also knows how much your experiences and skills are worth to the employer before you can begin salary negotiations, and we can do that and lots more with MySalaryScale.
