What's The Federal Government Doing To Universities Admiting Under-age Students? by KingOfAmebo(m): 2:46pm On Jun 03, 2018
The lawful age to gain admission into any Nigerian university is 16, however, there are countless claims by students who gained admission at a much younger age...recently, a teenager claimed to have completed her degree at 17, meaning she gained admission at age 13 which is against the law of the land.

What is the federal government doing to sanction the universities allowing this total breakdown and neglect to the laws of the land?

What is the government doing to discourage parents and students from this illegality?

Why can't the degrees of the students be revoked and cancelled to serve as a deterant to other parents/students who are thinking of doing same in the future?

Why can't employers of labor too be sanctioned for employing under age and aiding this unlawful practice?

If no man is greater than the law then the law must take its full course without fear or favor.

So assuming you are the person in question, would you like them to revoke your certificate..

Yes...not all Nigerians are criminals.

If you can graduate at 17 illegally, you still have enough time to graduate legally, so what's the rush?

You're indeed the KingOfAmebo grin

Buh on a serious note, these teenagers with the aid of their parents get affidavit in court to backdate their year of birth or even acquire a newer one since there is no record in place to check for such. So there is really little the government can do to put underage candidates' admission in check.

I think the available solution however is to enhance the local government areas to keep due record. There is little the government can do about the judiciary issue.

JAMB collects money for change of date of birth so the universities cannot implement Age restrictions.
