"Think what you can do for your country,and not what your country can do for you".

That was from John Fitzgerald Kennedy of blessed memory, whose equivocation on morality and governance remains a reference point in political history and leadership in United States and beyond. The speech is succinct and has parallelism to the good work of CEMSA General Overseer, Apostle Okafor Victor, who never waited for government to do the needful by supplying logistic support to the Police. In a well attended protocol, he handed a police van which was comatosed but put back to life by the church to Area G Command, Ogba, Ikeja, Lagos.

The Area Commander, Asst Commissioner of Police, ACP S A Sani, received the van on behalf of the Command and Lagos Police.

In an elaborate speech, he said he never witnessed this kind of gesture since his commissioning into Nigeria Police. He said he has transversed the nooks of Nigeria police and has never seen such benevolence or kind gesture. He urged all and sundry to emulate Apostle and his church. He promised to reach out to Commissioner of Police Lagos state, Mr Imohimi Edgal and other relevant government agencies on the kind gesture.

Apostle, responding, said he was elated that it was a dream come true because he has been nursing the urge to give back to the society from the little endowment he has which is part of his corporate social responsibility. He gave kudos the Church Board of Trustees(BOT) for their support and contributions which made the project to see light of the day. He called on other churches,Clerics,Imams and philanthropists to support the police and give their widow's mite.

He said partnering the police will go a long way in fighting crime and government alone cannot do it. He said what happened in Offa, Kwara state, recently attests to the need for collaborative effort because the police station was ill equipped, in addition to a dearth of staff to confront the hoodlums who snuffed life of over 50 people when they struck.

He became sober when he realised he was honed and raised in that community. He gave graphical account of the terrain and prayed there won't be another occurrence in any part of the country.
