Damn! The year has been crazy amazing, musically. Too much juice and sauce. And we still have well over six months to go.

The good thing about this whole thing is, everybody has come through this year. From the ones that won’t ever leave for moment, to the ones that have gone a bit extinct. Even the ones that promised not to drop anything again, have dropped. Wizkid, Davido, Olamide, Rudeboy, M.I, Burna Boy, 2Baba, Phyno, Brymo and every other person you could think of.

Out of that myriad of songs, we have selected the Top 10 that rocked the month of May… Oya come make we go?

10. Tiwa Savage – Labalaba

Yeah! So the Queen showed her face. She had taken home the Best Collaboration Award for her 2017 single with Wizkid, earlier last month. But, then that wasn’t all. She dropped two bangers, “Tiwa’s Vibe” and “Labalaba.”
Meanwhile, why does Tiwa sing “sexual healing” so well? I smell Wizkid.

9. Rudeboy – Is Allowed (ft. Reminisce)

Since the break, both of ’em (Paul and Peter) have tried to gain grounds as solo artists. In conclusion, they’ve tried! This Rudeboy jam which featured Reminisce, is really one that makes you wonder, if they’re better off, seperately.
Rudeboy brings that shaku shaku vibe to live, as Reminisce also drops his shuku shaker verse. “Rudeboy soft, Aga soft.”

8. Harrysong – Selense (ft. Kiss Daniel, Reekado Banks)

Been a while since Harrysong gave us a hit. But the new song “Selense” seems to be a hit. Released May 21 thereabout, it actually part of the songs that still rocked the month of May.
Mavins singer, Reekado Bank and FlyBoy Inc. Boss, Kizz Daniel, also came to add their sauce to the juice.

7. DMW – Aje (ft. Davido, Peruzzi, Yonda & Fresh VDM)

DMW are having a big year already. Davido has a hit, Mayorkun has, Peruzzi. And, the whole team have. They had done a collective single in January, “Mind”, which was hot.
However, the arrival of “Aje” seemed to have shortlived the hit song, “Mind.” Like my friend will always say; “It’s all for good.”

6. Reminisce – Ajigijaga

How this hip-hop track became one of the hottest singles of 2018, is still a mystery. Nobody was expecting Alaga to go hardcore, in this shaku shaku time.
But, he did. And, fortunately for him, it was a hit. Ajigijaga was produced by Sess. And to be honest, the Murk Reminisce competition really boosted the song.

5. Falz – This Is Nigeria

It was only 5 days left for May to pack up, when this cover of Childish Gambino’s hit, “This Is America” dropped. But, we’re not surprised how it made the list.
By the time it was, May 31, the Video on YouTube had hit a whooping 2m views. And, currently, is at 4m, under two weeks of release. Already, this is the biggest song of Falz‘s career. If May had ended without this song, it wouldn’t worth it.

4. DJ Spinall – Baba (ft. Kiss Daniel)

Can I be honest with you? G-Worldwide lost the best talent they could ever have. And since Kiss Daniel broke out of the “bondage,” he’s gone on to be featured on some of the best jams.
“Baba,” produced by Killertunes is a “baba-tic” Afrobeat song that has been rocking since it’s drop. For the records, it’s still rocking.

3. StarBoy – Soco (ft. Wizkid, Terri, Ceeza Milli & Spotless)
Best song of 2018, so far. It’s been hot for months, and it’s still in the Top 3. Wizkid got this right.
“Soco” has that Wizkid Afro feel you won’t get anywhere else. The song featured his new signee, Terri Ryn, Ceeza Milli and Spotless. Nobody could have killed it better!

2. Davido – Assurance

Davido must be thankful to God for Chioma, you know. He didn’t only give her assurance. He also got a hit single, in return. What’s the gain, anyway? If you trend and trend for something that’s not related to your career, and you couldn’t advance your career with it? Excuse my french, what I’m tryna say is, “Assurance” issa banger.

1. Olamide – Kana (ft. Wizkid)
Thank God for Wizkid who had gone to Olamide’s place, and blessed some beats, few months ago. Olamide might be nowhere to be found on this list. But, yeah, there’s Kana.
Very deep Afro jam, that sees both singers (permit me for calling Olamide a singer) showing their singing prowess. Produced by Mut4y, the jam had rose to the Top, once it dropped. You know, you can’t afford to sleep on a Wizkid x Olamide joint.

Other songs that were hot in May include Wizkid’s joint with PortHarcourt’s first son, Duncan Mighty called “Fake Love,” Kiss Daniel’s “4dayz,” Wizkid’s “Commando” featuring Ceeza Milli, Dr Sid’s “40 bottles” and Zlatan’s “Jogor” which had Lil Kesh and Naira Marley…

Which other one did we miss?
