Serves him right. It was such an unprofessional move. There was no harm in shifting the deal to a month later when you must be done with your tenure as Spain head coach.

Signing for a Madrid job just into the WC would cause distraction as you may be fantasizing over your new job, plus some Barca players in Spain national team may start becoming antagonistic. It was just a stupid move.

This coach was highly unprofessional. You don't announce such deal days before the world cup, given that your team is a mix of Barca and Real Madrid players.
