Ae-funai Academic Presents Paper At Harvard Conference by cyborgFUNAI: 11:31am On Jun 22, 2018
An academic in the Department of Accountancy/Business Administration/Banking and Finance, Faculty of Management and Social Sciences, Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu-Alike, Ebonyi State, Dr. Robert Azu Nnachi, recently presented a paper at the Harvard Medical School, Harvard University, Boston MA, United States of America.

The Conference which was organized by the International Journal for Arts and Sciences (IJAS) brought together erudite scholars and accomplished researchers from different parts of the world that were on hand to compare notes and share their research findings in their various fields.

At the event, Nnachi presented a paper on “Sustainable Employment Programme; A Growing Interest in Community – Business Relations in South- South, Nigeria.” The study was informed by the growing rate of unemployment in Nigeria and the continued disconnect in policy directions among key stakeholders in both the public and private sectors. The work revealed that as at the third quarter of 2017; unemployment stood at 18.80%, from 16.20% in the second quarter of year 2017, stressing that the situation was made worse in selected oil rich communities in South –South, Nigeria, occasioned by oil exploration activities that have affected their basic livelihood over the past 50 decades with the associated neglect due to their unsustainable business approach and practices.

He maintained that the effect of the long age neglect of the areas was worsened by the incessant conflict against the multinational oil companies operating in the villages. Over the years, he noted, this has impacted negatively on the profitability of these oil companies. Supporting empirical analysis, the study further extensively revealed employment models, policies and regulations across Europe, America, and other workable systems and strategies adopted by international organizations. The result shows that good employment models by multinational oil companies will speedily recoup the battered community- business relations and improve profitability of oil companies.

Nnachi has a doctor of philosophy degree (PhD) in Accounting; a Certified National Accountant (CNA). He has published good articles in reputable/ relevant academic journals and presented conference papers at both local and international fora. He has also participated in various contemporary training programs in Accounting and entrepreneurship development, including ICAN Forensic Certification Training Programme. His research interest includes sustainability Accounting and Reporting, Forensic Accounting, Fund/Financial management strategies in both public and private sector organizations.
