Manchester United and Belgium Striker Romelu Lukaku expressed the personality of sincerity inside of him by instructing referee Jair Marrufo not to award him a penalty during Belgium’s match against Tunisia. The referee,already awarded Belgium a penalty in the 6th minute,a decision vindicated by VAR, following a foul on Eden Hazard by Syam Ben Youssef. Hazard scoring the penalty gave Belgium the lead over Tunisia that was soon doubled by Lukaku, who converted a Dries Mertens pass with an accurate finish. Romelu lukaku should have scored again in the 27th minute when he was set free by Kevin de Byune but his first touch on was poor which made the ball run away from him. Lukaku attempted to redeem the situation by dribbling around the advancing goalkeeper but fell to the floor under the challenge of Farouk Ben Mustapha.

Instead of appealing for a penalty, the belgian stood up and refused to put any blame on his opponent who tackled him. His actions were in stark contrast those of Brazil superstar Neymar who dived to win a penalty in Friday’s match against Costa Rica, only for VAR to come to their rescue. Lukaku was rewarded for his honesty shortly before half time with another goal, his fourth of the tournament in total, as he drew level with Cristiano Ronaldo in the race for the Golden Boot.
